Yup, that's exactly right. That's why alot of us think the senate is just a big waste of money.
And most of the time they don't even have to show up. I seem to recall something in the news a few years ago about someone getting paid for the full year and only showing up for 49 days. (I think they ended up kicking him out once that little fact came to light..)
My buddies and I are hard-core Risk players. (basically three get-togethers a month for the last seven years).
I decided to pick up Risk 2210 as a change of pace and we absolutely love it. Basically, think of all the fun that you've ever had playing Risk, add three levels of (easy to learn) game enhancements and strategy to it and you've got Risk 2210.:)
As we were learning the game, our group came to the conclusion that Avalon Hill (publishers) must have play-tested the heck out of the game, because every situation and question that we had about the rules was addressed in the rulebook or FAQ.
The only drawback I find is that games are longer as it takes us about three hours for a game so we usually only get to play one (compared to three or four games of classic Risk). Still a definitely good buy!
Another nice thing about the game is that you can also play the standard version of Risk on the same board (so it's basically both games in one), or you can play 'classic' Risk with all the extra territories (69 instead of 42..).
I'm posting this simply because I'd heard from a number of people that Firefly was worth watching, and want to continue to spread the word about it.

I download the Firefly pilot. I watched it. I enjoyed it so much that I then got off my ass, ran down to Futureshop and picked up the DVD set (that afternoon) without a second thought.
Not everyone may like this series, but I certainly did. Enough that even though I'd already downloaded a few of the episodes (without watching any but the first), I went out and bought the DVDs anyways, based on how good the first one was.
And it's NOT Sci-fi. It's set in a sci-fi environment yes, but the show itself is not sci-fi themed. (ie, there's no alien-of-the-week-kinda-crap going on..)
The validation is done through javascript depending on the browser User-Agent. I've had numerous experiences where validation works perfectly in IE, but not at all in Firefox/Netscape.
Rogers@Home (in Ottawa, Ontario) does indeed have unquoted caps.
One of my friend's service was cut off because he was using his "unlimited" internet access "too much".
I don't have a problem with them capping it, but why they don't bother to tell people what the limits are is complete mystery to me.. (or well, aside from the fact that then they couldn't call it 'unlimited' anymore..)

beta /bay't*/,/be't*/ or (Commonwealth)/bee't*/ n. 1. Mostly
working, but still under test; usu. used with `in': `in beta'. In
the Real World, systems (hardware or software) software often go
through two stages of release testing: Alpha (in-house) and Beta
(out-house?). Beta releases are generally made to a group of lucky
(or unlucky) trusted customers. 2. Anything that is new and
experimental. "His girlfriend is in beta" means that he is still
testing for compatibility and reserving judgment. 3. Flaky;
dubious; suspect (since beta software is notoriously buggy).
1) It used to install spyware. Sure, they say they don't now, but why take the risk.
2) The last I checked, you couldn't install it without giving them an email address. This just irritates the heck out of me. (This is also the reason I give support@real.com to any other program/website that requires an email).
3) The icon that shows in the System Tray (like Winamp's 'Agent', but I think they call it something different), can't be disabled without making at least five mouse-clicks. This is also drives me nuts as it should only require at most two.
I don't use it because I use Real Alternative (http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm) which lets me play real-media files (if I absolutely have to, (at work for example) ) in Windows Media Player.
Or just think about yourself trying to explain how you don't want to see this because it violates privacy to a parent whose child is missing/abducted..

Nixon!!
Was anyone else really hoping that they'd look something like ED-209?
PDFCreator is great. I've been using it for over two years and it's definitely one of my standard tools to install after reformatting a machine.

I'm sorry, but if a company out-sources their advertising to someone who uses Spyware, I still won't buy their products.
It's up the company to ensure that their advertising partners are behaving responsibly, no one else!
So what you're telling me is that Iraq is more stable now than it was two years ago... right??
(geez, I wonder if maybe all those news agencies missed a memo...)

You mean just like iD did when they bundled all their games on the Quake (1) CD?
He's probably referring to the Validator widgets.

Geez.. Spamming from a fake Google cache...
I don't know whether that's lame or to be impressed that someone actually thought of it..

Yup, we think differently, therefore we *must* be evil...

And what, I'm supposed to believe that they won't put them back in when its convenient to them? I don't think so.
Real's product/company image with technical users is trashed, and there's a *damn* good reason for that.
I can only speak for myself, but I will *never* use another Real product or support any website/organization that uses their products.
.. so this is like what? One request for every unwanted ad they've ever forced down someone's throat??
single notice... (when am I going to learn to proof-read..) :(
Indeed. I'm an IT Developer (admittedly Windows, but still) and I haven't seen a since notice that this was going on again.
Thank you. I now have to clean coffee off of my monitor. (if only I had mod points...)

This question mark DOES NOT BELONG!!
.. if it saves one kid, then it's worth it...
