notice how they are not monospaced? in the 1970's that just wasn't done outside of a printing press.
Also they th in 187th is in the little letters...again not something done with normal technology.
The memo's are fakes from my understanding.
"Lets see how you sleep at night not knowing when someones coming for you.You got kids at home too dont you?Dame shame for that.Im not playing games or lieing to you so you better get in touch with me so you can get your info strait."
Thats from the e-mails. Dunno about you, but if someone threatened my kids-I'd be making a plane flight.
Gah you're right. I also forgot the wonderfull ability of one note to RECORD a conversation and time sync it with the notes so I can play back from a note. Nothing like telling your boss "no you SAID:" and playing it back on some speakers.
And yes-the voice recognition is in fact pretty darn good.
OK I read people saying things about a tabletpc that just arent accurate. It is NOT a overgrown pda...its..well..its a really cool laptop with many of the pda benefits tossed in. So what can I do with it thats so cool you say:
1. I can read books on it comfortably 2. I can lay outside and surf the net easily and comfortably 3. I can use it as a nice picture fram system when im charging it 4. I can comfortably watch tv on planes during long trips 5. I can print to its journal our documentation, and then mark it up and highlight it before returning it to our tech department 6. I can take notes on it without offending people by using a laptop, or being as loud as many laptops 7. I can start our software, then hand it to a customer with a quick button click to rotate the screen to face them. 8. I can draw things on graph paper on it 9. Its easy to carry around and play with while waiting in long lines-you just can't juggle a laptop to do that very well 10. I can lay in bed and comfortably read. 11. If you have any graphical book, comic book, whatever-you can display it one page at a time in a nice near paper sized format 12. Its cool in a nerdy way-what more could any slashdot guy want?
I have a motion m1300. The one thing most important when choosing one of these is weight. mines around 3 lbs-don't get a larger one weighing more then 3.5 lbs or you won't find it comfortable and easy to use.
The real concern I think is some guy finding a way to hack one of these. With a 8 hr waiting period...if it then simultaneously reformated everything.
Imagine windows update hacked. I update daily-lets assume 100 million other folks worldwide do. Within 8 hrs 33 million computers are infected...and reformat themselves.
Don't for a instant use some elses-cisco WILL take it as a slap in the face. If you need something custom-goto someone on their end in charge, and request either the equipment, or someone whom they approve that WILL do what you want.
I've dealt with Cisco before.
How odd to see this up. 3 days ago my work told me I could have all the old macs. This got me: 4 30/SE 1 SE 1 7600/132 1 quadra 700 [not sure].
I downloaded some games etc. had some fun. I'm going to set them up for the kids to play with [I have 6 kids]. Some interesting notes:
the se/30's have 40 MB hard drives. they still work. 8 MB of ram on these bad boys...16 Mhz. Amazing-and the games are still mildly entertaining. shanghai, civ, etc.
they were free-and there is some decent games for them in shareware and abandonware.
Definately. Give me a good life insurance policy, and good pay. in the end my family is OK either way. And for me...thats the bottom line. Right now-what if I get sick? my family would be destitute, what good would I be? A good insurance policy and good pay would guarentee my family a income.
Yeah it would be nice for em to be around, but really....its all about the money.
Oh wow....maybe we should not try and convict the guy of rape-after all sex is PRIVATE.
When you are talking about 20 years in jail for someone I think a bit of loss of privacy is reasonable to determine if he is guilty or not.
The judge is even examining it in private to determine if it is first./
For a while my company would ALSO lock you out of installing on a japanese machine.
As it turns out japanese machines have a different base character set, and the installer [installshield] would crash ALL the time. Even if multiple language packs were installed. Eventually after much head scratching, and installshield saying "wow you are right it doesnt work here either, and we have no idea why" I finally figured out what it was.
Turns out installshield at the time if you had a copyright symbol in a start emnu folder name would always crash.
I've also seen installations that just simply did not support japanese or chinese. They do have different language formats, not every letter can be kept in a single byte of data.
Or the CD-rom is hard coded to a region, and they make assumptions about people in a different regional language trying to install hardware not region specific. hard to say.
I am aghast. double clicking gets a patent? WTH? Im sure that the guy following me around will mod me redundent [whats up with that? im being stalked!]
Anyways lets cover this-a patent must be:
(a) novel - new, never having existed anywhere on Earth.
I hardly think that double clicking is new. I mean to me it seems that some prior art must exist-for example some arcade games had you double vlivk a button inthe game for special purposes.
(b) useful - it must "work" or accomplish something - the reason for the prototype.
OK im game-it makes it on this.
(c) non-obvious - if a clothespin exists, your invention of a clothes LINE would be "obvious".
To me, the idea of double clicking IS obvious. why wasnt this denied?
There must be some guy recently retired from the patent office enjoying some extra retirement funds from ol Bill at the moment.
Time to sue apple....and..Oh My! doesnt Linux use double clicking?
ACK....
Yahoo does this. sigh. I suppose now I get modded down.
Please tell me there isnt a 'mod stupid' option.
I can see it now....
Karma rating: stupid
@home, later attbi.com, now comcast.net...about 3 years ago tried this.
It was OK, but...well..I just couldn't get involved, too low of a selection at the time. And no 'new' releases.
If someone does it with new releases....THEN we'll be talking about something that works. So it depends on the management team of it.
Tape on the bottom of mice. Mildly entertaining.
Sounds week! On your last day make all the logoff sounds be a toilet flushing, or the sound of the headmans axe...after all...you're getting the axe!
In the name of process improvement make a dvorak keyboard, and put it on the boss's desk all setup and running.
Mail server fun! Put somethign in a odd area that sends the boss a email every 40 e-mails or so saying "you really should not have downsized your it guy". make it a reply to his e-mails.....from whomever he sent it to.
Depends on what your definition of fun is. I enjoyed leaving a timed effect that had the puter start this whining overload noise on bootup on one specific day of the year...and had a "O V E R L O A D W A R N I N G ! ! ! !" screen appear. With small SMALL print advising people to evacuate the room. Made some folks scream and stuff with that one....nowadays it would be a terroristic bomb threat:(
And now all the aliens from slashdot have swarmed their server.
One post before me and their server is already dead. What the heck? Did the developers steal the web server?
OK, so now a group of companys that have been found to run a business selling overpriced plastic with artificially high pricing is now trying to get the govt to handle prosecuting their civil matters.
I can't imagine this getting passed. However many futurests predict a future controlled by large corporations. This would be a good first step.
And it was a blast. Yeah my legs are sore. But DANG I had fun with the kids. I kicked their butts. we were all sweating at the end, the kids were vowing that they would get better then me, and my youngest daughter was expressing shock and dismay that she had been beaten by "my uncoordinated brother!". LOL.
The wife unit stood back and mocked me. even turning her webcam on me to show her freinds. I then pointed out that if she continued with such behavior I wouldnt buy her more computer toys. Said behavior stopped.
Bottom line-Good execise, good family fun, but expect some taunting from non-participants, and some competition within the family.
Will I lose weight? I don't really care. The family had fun.
Seriously? If its area 51...then where are the other 50 areas?
Excuse me, theres some helicopters outside I need to check out. they look cool, all black and
sigh. note to self-before reading tinfoil sites RTFA yourself.
notice how they are not monospaced? in the 1970's that just wasn't done outside of a printing press. Also they th in 187th is in the little letters...again not something done with normal technology. The memo's are fakes from my understanding.
On the plus side it missed the helicopters...... But bad news, although not a total disaster I suspect. As the news develops we will know more.
The scary part is that some DO get off on dogs.
And from your post...well..if read the WRONG way....
And make a business out of it? ewwww...
Right now in Iraq there is some guy asking one of his fellow soldiers this, and when the guy says "no" responding with the classic...
"Want some?"
"Lets see how you sleep at night not knowing when someones coming for you.You got kids at home too dont you?Dame shame for that.Im not playing games or lieing to you so you better get in touch with me so you can get your info strait."

Nothing impressive but they at one point made a attempt at it. The citys being invaded, suden death in. then fighting back the hordes....fun days.

I am sure that both Saddam and the Taliban government would agree with you.
Oh...then again maybe they wouldn't.
actually you are mistaken-it CAN hold 3 people. They just choose not to for this test flight. Overall these folks rock.
