It's hard to believe that management didn't care that a single employee was the only one who knew anything about critical infrastructure, no matter whether the employee arranged things this way because he thought no-one else was good enough or because this was his was of becoming entrenched.
I find that easy to believe. Even easier to believe that they didn't know this was the case, or knew but did not understand.
It's not actually the case of people not knowing the passwords or such, from what I've read in the news sources, it looks like he's locked out the other people who should have access. Think of him as a an admin who either changed the passwords of all the other admin users or deleted their accounts.
And I'll think of you as an asshole who didn't read the fucking article.
Hey x0, you're an ass. The only energy you get from a bicycle is what you put into it, so why don't we let bicyclists race against runners? The same goes with those spring-legs.
"There's no one out there that advertises to the 18-25 intelligent male segment. In terms of real, live, people-watching-TV-numbers, it just doesn't exist."
Hey! What about the Discovery Channel, and Slashdot?;-)
There used to be a billboard by the freeway in Utah County. You could see it when driving south on I-15. It was a Caldera Linux ad and showed a woman holding some dough (bread dough it looked to be) in her hands.
"3 IT managers have a serious technical debate"
hahah!, that's funny. Managers and technical don't mix too well, debate however involves talking, which they love to do.
Can you imagine having to sit through that thing.
eew.
You invented the language? NO way!!! That's amazing!!!
OK, for real, if my ancestors were English but I live in America, and your ancestors were English but you live in England, it doesn't follow that your spelling is more correct that my spelling.
And besides, the English got the word from the French, and the first known use of the word as meaning "come to an understanding" was around 1775, where it fell into American usage with a different spelling than the usage in England. So what the fuck is your point?
The poster didn't ask why he didn't get caught immediately, the poster asked why he didn't get caught.
uh.. Someone did notice. He got caught remember?

That's it!!! The best comment I've ever read on slashdot.
Yes, but it is even MORE likely that this was due to equipment malfunction.

OK, so make sure that when you buy an album, buy one copy for each person in your family.
What? You pick pumpkins off of the ground and put them in your mouth?
No, his GrandFather is a woman.
hmm....
So the choice is, PAY money to use FLASH and reach everyone, Or NOT PAY money to use SilverLight and reach everyone....
OK, you know what? That is actually a kick ass idea.

"All but dead" can be thought of as "All the attributes of being dead except actually being dead." It's just an idiom.
Caldera was the first Linux Distro I ever used.

Aaah, the good old days...
(sigh)
Why would I buy and download a movie if I can just get it from a bittorrent for free?
3 years eh? Good luck with that.
OK, so go kill yourself and tell us the results.
Don't you know? 70% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Including the one I just wrote.

"But if you use YouTube to access content that you'd never see on American TV"
Seriously, WTF? Are you implying that all regular non American T.V. has foreign language courses?
Another thought is this; What about when American T.V. is piped over broadband? Is broadband then still a good measurement of intelligence?
Your argument fails to convince.
"Seems like someone is trying to compete with IE" Uh, yes. Firefox has been competing against IE since it's inception.
So who is the current founder?
ok, it's not a bill...yet. Just a study.
Yes, but in a case like this we have the initiative process. This bill, even if passed by the goverment, would be repealed by the people.
