  1. I'm still not sure on Ask Questions of the World of Warcraft Team · · Score: 1

I'm still not sure if I want to go and buy this game. The fact that there hasn't been a demo version has really put me off from buying this game. Are there any plans to put up a demo server/version?

    8. Microsoft buries the Movie Maker deep inside the OS, purposefully glomming the two together [as Windows Digital Media Content Creation Edition] so that they cannot be extricated.

    9. Microsoft and its apologists announce that it is impossible, unfair and unreasonable to debundle their media player from their OS, because the Movie Maker is a part of the operating system and that "security holes in the program require the Movie Maker 2 update."

I mean its the next logical step right? Especially if WMM becomes as powerful as Avid or Premier. (Sure macs I know are better, but with this recent OSX on Intel stuff we'll be seeing Final Cut Pro on the PC soon enough.)

Alienware. If we can get those guys to install trackpoint mice onto their laptops for us IBMers, we could have the same IBM power we've come to expect, and possibly even more given that with them we have come to expect from IBM...except their recent supid decision to loose graphics cards and go with integrated graphics instead (BOO! My 32mb ATI Mobility 7500 on my A31 which is being reformatted weekly now is better than my new G40s 64mb Intel extreme) I've never minded lugging an 8 pounder to class, nor have I had problems using it on my lap, so how much different can alienware be? 23. Strange but... on Interview with MPAA Chief Dan Glickman · · Score: 1

Since LOTR, the only movie I've seen in theaters is I Robot. In fact, most of the time I find myself going to theaters only if its on the big IMAX screen I got near by, as I know that I'll be seeing regular sized movies on HBO within a year, and when that happens, I turn on my ATI AIW for capturing if I really want to, and then I spit that out to VCD or DVD for watching on my HDTV. Movies? those aren't my taste for downloads. Its stuff that's legal I go for, or stuff that companies turn blind eyes to, like fansubs of anime until it's licensed that I'll go for.

No matter what, Even if its off campus at a seminary, even if they charge more for it, GET A SINGLE! It'll save you a lot of headaches later on. As for laptops, for me, I've had no problems with it except for a few accidental drops from the desk to the floor, and trust me IBM Thinkpads are built like tanks. I've got an old A31, and while I did loose a USB port on it somehow, it still works, and I've chipped this thing more times than I can count. As for security, I've got just the solution for you. There's actually a company called Computrace (http://www.computrace.com/) It will help you track down a stolen laptop. The way it works is it installs itself in a way so that not even an Fdisk can get rid of it. What happens is when a laptop is reported stolen, a flag is placed in the datacenter. When the laptop is connected to the internet, it silently reports back home, and gives information that allows the theif to be caught. While I can't say that i've had my laptop stolen, I'm glad to know that if it is ever stolen, I just put in a call and they go to work on recovering it.
