It's very true. Dell sold them through their online store. It was the original first gen iPod. They didn't market it heavy, though. I think it was mainly due to their development of their own player. It was before the iPods really took off with the second generation models.
Yes, if privacy is an issue, you do need the 2.4 or 5.8 phones. But not b/c of the freq. but b/c they have models with Digital Spread Spectrum. That's a much more reliable way to keep people from picking up your phone conversations. IIRC, 900mhz phones don't offer DSS. So when purchasing a phone, make sure it has DSS if you want security. Otherwise, it doesn't matter one way or the other. In fact, if security isn't a concern, 900mhz phones do have better range in buildings with many walls. 2.4 and 5.8 ghz signals don't travel as well through obsticles.
I go to BestBuy only to see first-hand what I want to buy from Amazon. Think about it. There's nothing at BestBuy that you can't get online. And with free super saver shipping, it makes it all the sweeter. No sales tax either. Amazon knows customer service, BestBuy doesn't. No rebates to worry about with Amazon. And it's usually in stock. If it's not, I can find it elsewhere online. I've had too many problems with BestBuy/CompUSA (WHY CAN'T THEY KEEP THEIR MERCHANDISE PROPERLY PRICED AND TAGGED!)/Staples/etc. but never with Amazon. BestBuy and others needs to pay attention to what's going on with Amazon and how they're eventually going to kill their sales.
If I had mod points, you'd receive an "Insightful" from me. I always seem to use them up too quickly, it seems. Sorry, dude. Very good post and right on.
What notestein said. Can we get a series of responses to this about how we all would like to keep the political commentary off of Slashdot? A petition is in order.
I said, desktop, not workstation. How can you call it "lame" just b/c they don't put in a feature that is, as you admit, arguable in its necessity? Trust me, you will not miss ECC in the G5's or any other high-end desktop. Give me a good reason you would.
Because you don't need it in a desktop. It's slower. ECC is designed for servers. Buy an Xserve if you need it. What's the problem here? Dell doesn't put ECC in it's desktops.
You did not buy them outright. You bought them with conditions attached. You licensed them for use with iTunes and iPod. Those are the terms you agree to after you install iTunes and the iTMS. You are violating those terms after you click on "I Agree."
The bigger problem is getting Quicktime on Linux. That's a lot of iTunes underpinnings right there. Quicktime has been on Windows for ages and has some of Apple's APIs included. That made getting iTunes on Windows a little less troublesome. Linux is a bit of a bigger project, I'm sure, despite the "UNIX based" nature of OSX. As much as I'd like to see iTunes on Linux, I don't see it happening unless Apple suddenly open-sourced it and let others do the work. I suspect that their R&D will be directed elsewhere.
It's probably due to the fact that Q3 is OpenGL based whereas they seem to be pushing the DirectX9 factor with the benchmarks they are using. But that being said, I'd like to know what this card can do with OpenGL gaming myself, especially since Linux/Mac users are left in the dark with all the DirectX stuff (save using WineX). Will Nvidia's new chipset ever see light of day on the Mac side? What kind of performance will it have versus ATI on the Linux side of things? I'd love some insight on these matters.
Ugh! Sony has a GREAT controller and they do not need to mess with it! More is less and less is more. I know this is controversial and up for debate, but I really do think that a good thing should not be tampered with. Heck, I still like the cramps I got from my NES pads.

I don't know about you, but I have more than one phone outlet in my house. So I keep both. :-/

Take some karma and trade in for a CLUE!
BestBuy's website is riddled with the same over-inflated prices and cheap rip-off rebates as their store. What's your point?

All slots in the G5 are PCI-X

This was posted under "Developers" but it's essentially the same story.
I had no problem using Safari. It says it's not supported but it'll let you sign in and it works fine from that point.

Uh, you need to learn math. Uh, yeah. Math. Yeah, that'd be a good thing.
Just remember... that $3000 plasma is only EDTV, ***not*** HDTV. It's not worth it, IMO. Hold out for cheaper HDTVs.
I think what's more hilarious than the link to "screenshots" is that mods have labeled this "Interesting." LMAO!
CircuitCity's DIVX and the DivX codec are two completely different things. Move along, nothing to see here, folks.

Buttwipe.
Overpriced. Try www.amazon.com . Always free shipping over $25 (which applies to nearly all new games), too.
