  1. Re:Oi vei... on Nintendo - Stodgy, Not-So-Super Mario? · · Score: 1

It's the stupid mentality of most folks I think. A company does well and they think it's bad. PS2 and xbox sell less the last few months with the Cube and GBA's beating them out and they practically fall over each other to praise the xbox and ps2..

  2. Re:*sigh* on Nintendo - Stodgy, Not-So-Super Mario? · · Score: 1

I love you both! Let's all live together LOL! :D

Seriousely though yes it is ironic and funny how these morons who report "death and gloom scenarios" for Nintendo in articles and on message boards (Gamefaqs Cube message board is bad for this with little kids) never seem to mention or notice that xbox and ps2 are selling less lately and not even flying off the shelves.

Which in a way is suprising because I hear the PS2 breaks down quite often, some people are on a new PS2 every year. :D

  3. Move on on Nintendo - Stodgy, Not-So-Super Mario? · · Score: 1

Nothing new here folks - just some lame reporters thinking they are psyhic and can predict the industry and come up with thier own conclusions. Crap publised from the Washington Post, Time Magazine and other morons who declare Nintendo dead or Nintendo has no future can go in a cave somewhere and stay there. :D

  4. The WON version on Science & Industry 0.97b Half-Life Mod Release · · Score: 1

How's the WON version supposed to work? As I understand it VALVe has already shut down or will soon be shutting down the WON servers for good, therby ensuring everyone HAS to use the smelly pile of goo that is called STEAM.

  5. The changes list on Sven Co-Op 3.0 Half-Life Mod Released · · Score: 1

I read the entire changes list for this version and it doesn't seem like much. Sven coop was always a CPU intensive mod, run on older servers where the ping was always constantly in the high ranges.

Plus, for some reason Sven seems to attract even worse llama's then CS! And that's saying something. I gave up on Sven a long time ago back in the 2.1 release days because of the lack of servers and lack of decent good ping servers.

Why do they abandon everything they start? That's easy, they have no clue what they are doing. Back in the 90's Gravis made some damn fine soundcards that were some of the first to use wavetables for MIDI music and sounded damn fine then too for games that used MIDI music (like DOOM for example).

  16. All about IGN on GameSpy And IGN To Merge · · Score: 1
Forget that they review games. Forget that they have a competent writing staff that shames the competition.
Competent writing staff you say? Lately I have been seeing more and more spelling errors in the reviews, whether it is for PS2/XBOX or Gamecube games. I would also say their reviews don't shame the competition, often the tiny or little review sites with independant writers, heck even the reviewers on Gamefaqs are often more honest then anything.

Forget that they've been in the game for what...6 years?
Yeah and the funny thing is - 6 years ago they were a heck of a lot more honest and did a better job with the sites that got them started, namely IGN64 and the sites they had then for PS1 and other systems.

Forget that they have the resources to do head to head comparisons of multiplatform titles. Forget that they produce quality video features weekly.
Head to head? As in copying and pasting one review for a PS2 version of a game to the Gamecube and then Xbox version - in short the exact same review? Laugh. :)

And to be honest if they wanted quality video features they would actually release video's in OTHER formats besides always Quicktime or more likely now DIVX format.

Do you think they're biased? Do you think they take the old payola?
Of course they are biased and also "Take the old payola". They appear to be more biased towards PS2 games more then anything else, as well as football games which they always give high ratings too even when it's just MINOR changes from the previous year's version, yet when it comes to decent titles on any platform they consistently rate it often below 8, only for everyone to see readers with common sense give it a better rating.

AOL forgot to mention that the parts used in these computers are likely the cheapest and most poorly made junk from Taiwan that, when put together into a cheap PC such as this, will be lucky enough to last 3 months, 6 months means it's blessed, and if it lasts more then a year then consider yourself VERY LUCKY.

  20. The robbers must be idiots... on Daring Console Heist Nets Broken Machines · · Score: 2, Insightful

Having worked in a warehouse myself for a couple of years that dealt with computers and electronics, every skid (pallet) we sent out that was for broken goods was shrink wrapped and CLEARLY labeled as defective merchandise to be sent back to the distribution warehouse for them to handle.

Each individual item also had some paperwork stuck to it explaining exactly what was wrong with it.

Now, since I doubt six pallets of non working ps2's and xbox's would be shipped out and not have paperwork and signage (signage on the shrinkwrap or at least visable through the shrinkwrap) saying it's defective merchandise, then obviousely the robbers can't read. :D

More likely I say it could have been an inside job. Perhaps a guy working there has some buddies who could then take all those machines (defective or not) and sell them on the black market or to other friends "under the table" so to speak.

I've been running Ad-Aware and SB: S&D for years now and it's never yet screwed up ANYONES IE installation, even with online associates of mine or the occasional time I go over to some of my relatives houses to fix their computer(s) because their young kids download all kinds of crap that installs the spyware in the first place, only for me to find that the computer had over 300+ spyware items found!

As to whethr Dells installing spyware? Doesn't suprise me one bit - Dell strikes me the same way HP and Compaq do - they mass produce PC's the same way they do toasters, massive amounts of pc's that may only last 1-2 years before your toaster and or PC breaks down (whicever comes first).
