Of course, debt collectors never go after the wrong people and they never make mistakes.
Wait until you get harassed by a debt collection agency for a debt you don't owe then let's see if you spew out the same 'advice.' And yes, it's happened to me. I eventually cleared my name but it was a pain in the ass.
But the shovelware titles are the best-selling. According to VGChartz.com, Imagine: Babyz and Imagine: Fashion Designer have each sold nearly 3 million copies each. Compare that to the sales of some of the highest-rated DS games:
Fire Emblem - Shadow Dragon: 480,000
Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - Grimoire of the Rift: 640,000
Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow: 340,000
Store shelves are stocked with shovelware for one reason: they sell. Heck, for years people were whining about the lack of 'adult' games for the DS, then Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (excellent game, BTW) was finally released. The game sold so poorly it's been ported to the iPhone and PSP to help recoup development costs.
The Final Fantasy IV DS remake only sold 1.04 million copies. If more people actually bought the quality DS titles, we would see more of them. Vote with your wallet!
Agreed. I own a DS Lite as well as a 'slim' PSP, but despite it's inferior specs, I enjoy the DS more.
The problem is, many people think the DS has nothing more than My Little Pony and Dora the Explorer games, but if you dig past the kiddy games and shovelware, the system has a fantastic library. You have the excellent 2D games (Mega Man ZX, New Super Mario Bros, the 3 Castlevanias and Contra 4), old-school RPGs (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Dark Spire, Ys, Black Sigil, the upcoming new Golden Sun), puzzlers (Professor Layton), and so on.
But the simple fact is even teeny boppers that don't know the difference between a PC and a VCR come with their parents to get a new PC and I mention Vista I get an EXTREMELY loud EEEEW!,like I took a crap in front of them or something.
People don't know the difference between Microsoft Word and Windows XP, yet they know that 'Vista' is a synonym for 'crap.' Even people that don't know what an operating system is are asking me 'won't Vista make my computer really slow?'
Hopefully Microsoft can fix the issues with Windows 7 (wishful thinking, I know).
I received the exact same response when Rogers tried to screw me over. I receive my phone service from Sprint Canada and my DSL from Storm Internet, a Bell wholesaler. When Rogers bought Sprint, they switched me to Rogers Digital Home Phone, and they assured me that my DSL would not be affected. They lied and my DSL stopped working, so I asked to be reverted to analogue phone service. They flat out refused, saying all they can do for me is switch me to Rogers Highspeed. I argued with them over the phone and by email for over a week, and they kept saying that I can no longer have DSL in my apartment. I complained to the CRTC and got the "we don't regulate ISPs" BS response. I considered complaining to the CCTS, but look at the process involved: ccts-cprst.ca. It can take 60 days for anything to happen! I ended up getting my DSL restored by converting to dryloop DSL.
That was a month ago. Now this week my connection started getting throttled. It's ridiculous and you can't win. If you choose Rogers, you get screwed. Use Bell's service, you get screwed. Switch to a small local ISP, and Bell still manages to find a way to screw you.
You might also want to check out the old games you can play on the DS. I have yet to try them all, but I can confirm that SNESDS, NESDS and Lameboy work very well.
Zellers was selling PS2s for 100$CAD this week, and some PS2 games can be found for under $20 at many stores.
And as you mentioned, the PS2 has a massive game library, including Guitar Hero, Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto. It's affordable and fun entertainment.
This morning, I saw a car with a tripod mounted on it's room (similar to this one) driving in the west end of Ottawa. I only caught a quick glimpse (I was on the bus) but it looked like a Chevy Cobalt.
Also, did anyone besides me flinch when reading from MS that "we have turned on [reduced functionality mode] for pirated copies of Vista"..?? That turned out to be a hoax.
I was at Wal-Mart and Best Buy last night, and both stores had 3 PS3s on the shelf. Funny how it wasn't long ago that people were paying 2 grand on eBay for these things.
"Don't assume all customers are idiots, especially when they call for support"
Every helpdesk I had the mispleasure of calling is guilty of that.
"Don't use proprietary hardware"
The PSU is my brother's Dimension 4600 desktop (purchased in late 2003) failed and we replaced it with an off-the-shelf 450-watt unit. Works fine.
"Tone down the crap that is pre-installed"
Amen to that. The Dimensions I mentioned above had so much crap preinstalled, it certainly didn't feel like it was powered by a Pentium4. It's easier to format and start with a fresh re-install instead of trying to uninstall all the garbage.

Firefox 3.6.4 had 7 release candidates, significantly more than most releases have.
Only on Slashdot can an anti-Microsoft post containing false info end up as +4 Insightful.

If the story's title was "Major Windows 7 Bug Said To Delete User Data", the story would have 1000+ comments by now, most of them bashing Microsoft.
Hell, I paid $50 for a name brand (Phillips) region-free player, which also plays DixV and Xvid files. Plenty of value for 50 bucks.
Damn pirate!!
So the Intel processors and Toshiba hardrives Apple uses are different that the off-the-shelf versions? Whatever.

Microsoft forced you to install a beta version of IE? Bullshit.

You can steal a lot of stuff here, too.
I apologize, I meant SNEmulDS instead of SNESDS.

I bought a case of 12 cans at Shopper's Drug Mart. I liked it quite a bit too. I prefer the Strawberries & Cream Pepsi Jazz, though.
