Intentionally, or unintentionally I've spread my mp3s across my laptop, PSP (4GB mem stick pro duo), phone (1GB mini SD), and two iPods (4GB iPod mini and 1GB 2G Shuffle).
It ensures at any given time, I've got at least four hours of music on my person...
I travel for work about 20 times per year, about seven days per trip. All travel is domestic. I spend 10-15 hours per day in hotel ballrooms or convention centers. The rest of the time is spent in bars and my hotel room.
One thing that needs to be addressed, what to carry all your gear? I've always used a backpack to carry my stuff (14 in. laptop, mp3 player, digital camera, disk case, PSP, assorted cables and chargers, and a couple magazines and/or paperbacks) as the messenger bags tend to get too bulky. I'm currently carrying The Crumpler Sinking Barge backpack as I've been traveling with my Canon DSLR and two or three small lenses and this bag was designed to carry the camera stuff and a laptop. The Crumpler brand is well known in the photog arena for their capacities, durability, and funny names.
What's a much bigger deal (to me) is that I can't swap a battery in an emergency... I travel a great deal for work, and there have been occassions where unable to get to a power outlet to recharge.
Since hurricane Katrina, I've kept a spare battery in my overnight bag, as I was stuck in Florida without power and a nearly dead phone. Those times are the ones I depend on my cellphone the most, trying to call my airline (flight canceled, can I rebook?), friends and family (is everyone alright?), rent-a-car companies (can I drive to Jacksonville and get a flight outta there?) all in a small window of time. Not being able to swap in a fresh battery is a major CON for me, and maybe a few more nerds like me.
FWIW - my LG VX9800 plays mp3s, and I purchased spare batteries on eBay for $15 each.
using the Internet isn't supporting the Vonage product. Unless you also say ISPs support child pr0n.

You're also forgetting cable. In my area (somewhat rural Northwestern Virginia), cable is far more prevalant than DSL. Also in my area, there is no Verizon DSL package that doesn't require at least a basic home phone service.
I imagine that some users could have DSL through Verizon, and another line with Vonage for long distance, through that same DSL line... But in that case wouldn't Verizon also fight phone card sales, and all those 10-10 dialing schemes? Direct competition, using their lines...
and it's a push in the right direction. I'd rather my children watch watered down science and then do further research on their own than watch American Idol and the other 90% of crap TV designed to sell action figures and juice boxes.

check which admittedly is a lot to ask, you'd have known that the local TV station used the same setup as an uplink, saving a cool $20.000
But I still don't get how they saved $20K.
1. Build $10 dish from wok (save $70 - $390)

4. Profit (or in this case, save) $20K!
Could they have not used the $80 - $400 solution to also save $20K?

But for how much longer? the more positive attention fox draws from the unwashed masses, the more negative attention will turn in that direction from malware developers.
If you go from 5% marketshare to 25% marketshare - your percentage of people looking for and finding bugs for good would drop through the floor.
Think of it like this - Maybe one out of every ten of my FFX using friends actually do any app-dev work. Is that accurate? Maybe 10% of all users? If more 'regular people' started using FFX, ditching IE, you think you're still going to have 10%?
Safari and FFx are safe for now, because they're not being targeted by hundreds/thousands/millions.
So - I bought a network adapter for my gen 1 PS2. Not too long after i got the adapter they released the slim line ps2 for less, with built in adapter. Did I feel screwed? No way. I got to play online before any of those other folks did.

Any early adopter to any platform of anything has got to realize that there will be later, greater versions that come out, for even less money. You buy the console now, because you want it now. Not because they promise to stop innovating for your specified amount of time.
Allowing people to die in order to make a few bucks is illegal in any civilized country I think...

if "few bucks" > X - who cares?!?
if "few bucks" is less than X - issue press release pointing out good corporate ethics, and how many lives were saved, due to a policy to "wipe out corporate greed". insert video clip of CEO eating lunch w/ commoners.
