Well, you may be safe for now, but with the way things seem to be going to crap in other countries, it's just a matter of time until they start cracking down in other non third-world countries.
Well, if you are grabbing DVDR rips from BT, you are probably using a public site that the RIAA tracks, and they don't seem to do jack to DC++ yet. If getting things faster is worth the risk of getting your internet turned off, be my guest.
I don't think I've read anything by Carver. I need to pick that up, and some of the Asimov I haven't read yet. I got my start in scifi with Heinlein and Arthur C Clark, got into Asimov via the foundation books, then read caves of steel/etc. I only asked if it was bad if I liked aaaaalll of them because I have heard some elite-scifi snobs who crapped all over Foundation and Earth, which I actually found to be incredibly interesting, in the way he tied things together(can't elaborate any more than that without spoiling things) with some of his other books.
Yup, me being a 24 year old book snob, I don't think I have ever heard of this, until I clicked your sig a coupld days ago.
ps is it bad if I liked all the foundation books, and I mean aaaalll of them?
If you are ok with trying a different media player, VideoLan will play anything that I've come across, including quicktime. Shit, I swear it would play a video clip if I loaded a text file into it.
First: To everyone whining about the muuuuusic, shut up. Turn off your speakers, or fix your firefox plugins, we do not care.
Second: I liked the writeup, it's your blog for God's sake, not something meant to be an award-winning article. You answered any question I may have about the iPod/duke thing.
Good job man.
I was one of many waiting for each installment. It was good stuff.

other low-income realms. This includes a new service they are considering to reach the "urban" market, complete with "spinnaz" instead of an hourglass, and a sideways glock instead of a mouse pointer.
All kidding aside, they are also aiming toward older computer purchasers in addition to the urban market. The desktops will have big friendly AOL icons on the desktop to make things easier.
I hear ya dude, that shit sucked. I went from staying up all night playing everquest and picking up local sluts on MSN/yahoo/AIM to having a damn real job where I wasn't the night shift front desk guy.
Dude, I think you missed the boat there. Half-life got all kinds of credit for being playable, you dont sell a shitload of copies by being uber-extreme.
You know what, png is far better than gif, and I can prove so here, a well-written guide to how images should be used, pretty damned in-depth, and idiot proof.
A friend of mine had played EQ for several years, when his account got hacked. He found out that it was a real-life "friend" who did it, and he tracked him down and beat his ass, the way it should be. I know if I ever got a bug up my ass and blew $500 on virtual equipment and got scammed, I'd be making a road trip to beat some dweebs down
This shows how nasty their format sounds compared to Ogg, mp3, aac, wma, and mpc. The test is done with multiple listeners ranking them from 1-5. Pretty well done, and now I'm probably going to be making the move to ogg once I start ripping my own stuff. Well, that, and moving my home pc to gentoo.
It only plays the ATRAC format, which sounds like garbage. I'll dig up the listening test article later. The Ipod does so well because Apple prefers that people use the AAC format, but supports MP3, because that's where the money is.
If I had mod points, you would be receiving them. I think that would be a hilariously fun way to play. I wonder if that's doable with the quake2 source that's out there?
Oooh, I didn't even think of that. Having your character get all dirty after going prone in the dirt or mud would definitely be nice. Maybe occasional water drips from your hair/hat if it's raining.
Actually, the new Metroid on the gamecube actually had some nice water effects, with droplets on the visor, and a reflection of your eyes due to glare.
Hmm, a person that sits alone all day in their basement, and hates people.
:)
Sounds like you've created a slashdot poster!

Unit 184327: The horse is dead, repeat, the horse is dead, stop beating and get a new shtick, over.
Well, how many people here are really typing on a terminal, and how many want to seem to be geek-chic?
Why do people think that the ^H thing is witty and funny?

Tell your windows sound settings that you have a 5.1 system, it will compensate, and you'll get your sound working. :)
Protip: Don't use leetspeak, it's not 1999.

Oh man, that's pretty funny, I didn't even think about it like that. Mind if I make that my sig?
here is another link to the story, if the first one craps out, as they usually do.
Maybe that's the version for the Easter Island region?
Ya gotta thing about those sorts of things, be PC, etc.
