Simply put, Palin scares the living fuck out of me. If I had to vote on who I wanted President out of the 2 running and their VPs. I'd be: McCain. Obama. Biden. Pet Rock. Palin.
Do I want my wealth 'redistributed', no. But I'd take that over Palin in office. I've followed her speeches and the VP debate. What the hell was McCain thinking? And it has nothing to do with her womanhood, there are plenty of Women that I wouldn't mind in office.
We have someone that is one heartbeat away from becoming president that believes that abstinence only education works. It failed in her own family.
Democrats and Republicans are both 2 sides of the same Taxing machine. Both want 'big' government, they just want to spend it on different things. Bring back the Confederacy. Toss some funds nationally for a few things, but other than that. Let me keep my money or keep it locally.
How the fuck does this keep happening? I can understand a remote exploit here and there. But seriously. How dumb/slow/lack of testing do you have to be to put these in the wild. Last bug that made Slashdot affected everything back through like 98 or something. I know "MS sux" is the big joke around here, but seriously.
If it's because Windows is the Most used OS in the world, why don't we hear about Apache remote exploits? With Apple and Linux taking market share with College kids and the Server market why aren't we hearing about these remote exploits with them?
Does linux/windows have anything like "smart folders"? I can make a folder on my desktop of the last modified.doc files. Or last modified files containing X name. Or opened/created/modified within X days
One of my friends just went back home to his (hoping to be fiance) so that he could ask for her hand in marriage. 16 hour flights both ways so he could beg the elders to have her hand. He's an engineer, she's a med student. They've both been in the US for 6+ years and all the elders kept getting hung up on is that his family is of a lower caste.
In the end he ended up getting the thumbs down, they're still dating but the marriage is postponed.
Yokogawa. I'm a bit biased because it's what we use at work. We have a "ScopeCorder" which has a 40GB HD that can do real time recording and other stuff. http://www.yokogawa.com/tm/dl/tm-dl.htm
The features that I use most (Unfortunately Windows only): Matlab API, I can control it from Matlab. Along with my XPCs Remote control. They have a GUI interface that launches and talks over USB or TCP/IP. When the scope is in a 'hazardous environment' and I still have to collect data. You can also take screen shots from here. DLL for use in writing my own programs. I have 2-3 programs I wrote just for taking data for non-engineers.
We had some newer HPs in college and the thing that we used most was screen capture feature from Word/Excel so you could easily import a screen shot for reports. I think this is what we used most actually. Talked over a special cable, but the newer ones should be able to do TCP/IP.
Hear Hear. I grew up in Indiana which recently switched (And I moved to Illinois). After 2 years it still twists my head around trying to think if I'll get more light now or less or when is 'savings time' and when is 'normal' now that 'savings time' is the majority of the year.
How are they going to deal with all associated memories also?
Say I want to forget an ex. Bamn, 'her' memory is gone. But what about the memory of who I watched a certain movie with? Would I remember: 1) Not ever seeing the movie 2) Not ever seeing the movie with someone 3) Not ever remember seeing the movie with her 4) Not remember that the person I saw the movie with was my ex.
Smells, Sounds, Sights can all trigger memories in humans, what is going to happen when the 'interrupt' is still there but there's nothing to call?
If you're patient you can get a MacBook(Pro) for 40% off. Wait until Apple releases the next generation. Search MacMall, the Apple Refurb Store, etc. You don't think those Dell's you're getting for 40% off are the latest and greatest? Dell just doesn't make as big of a deal about their 'next generation' as Apple does. Old chipsets, old designs, lower res monitors, less built in features.
312 kWh last month. Never use the AC. One horribly inefficient 2TB disk server running 24/7. A CRT/xbox that I run about 4 hours a night here and there. Electric stove. Gas heat. 1700 sq ft tri-level.
Although "Inefficiency" is just away of saying wasted heat. Now maybe not for the summer months, but starting about now I wouldn't mind an 'inefficient' genset in my house.
If you were to do this you wouldn't use a Car Battery. You'd use a deep cycle. Second you wouldn't get a deep cycle the size of a car battery. Get a Fork Lift battery. 1300+ Ah.
2MB/s. I still have a shell on a computer in a closet on an EDU line that I like to use for stuff like this.
If I have 3 Apples why the hell do I want Ubuntu?

Seriously, What the Fuck.
We already tried it, New Harmony, IN.
They tried it twice. Once a group of 'doers' and no thinkers and again with a group of 'thinkers' and no doers. Both failed.
Anatomii of a Hack - The Daily WTF.
Short explanation on how one of the first hacks worked. Lazy coding.
I guess I don't follow. How is this similar to Smart Folders?
List is maintained by Spotlight. There are also Smart Folders in Mail.app.

More like a velociraptor, especially if it's going to be in teams of 3-5.
Better study up on which way to run: http://xkcd.com/135/
No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame.
If you really want to see how good Slashdot is at predicting what the market will do, this is always a hilarious thread: http://apple.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/10/23/1816257&tid=107
That and the one about Apple going to Intel.
Jericho; War, Inc? They're closer than we think.

Australia turned out ok. Mars will be better off in the long run if we send the criminals rather than the religious nuts.

Some men can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
It's ok, he just works for Verizon.

Rule 34. Even aliens have it.
