    Windows gives you no such choice or flexibility.

    WTF are you on about? I use iTunes and Quicktime myself. You're free to install any third party app you like. And you failed to address the original poster's question as to why OS X is allowed to ship with a media player.

    Their 2000 album Kid A wasn't promoted in any way, however a copy was leaked onto Napster before it was released. Millions downloaded it, and sales went right through the roof.

    Uh, Kid A wasn't Radiohead's first album. Pretty sure it would have sold millions with or without any "promotion."

    Skipping tracks is not a way to navigate a large music collection. Thankfully you don't have to worry about that since buying enough Memory Sticks to hold a large collection is prohibitively expensive.

    He said the Shuffle and Mini. It's the Shuffle 512MB and Shuffle 1GB that are $129 and $189 respectively in Canada. The Mini is $249.

    The waiter then has to go and put the order in. Which often means double-entry.

    But that's because there is another computer that isn't needed: the computerized register. If you don't introduce that, then the paper order can go right to the kitchen and then serve as bill and receipt. A diner usually operates in that manner. A little piece of paper that serves as order to waiter, order to kitchen, bill, receipt. Simple, elegant, non-computerized.
