    I see it being bypassed by PCI-E. Even PCI-E 1x is fast enough for a gigabit interface, and it's already on almost all new motherboards. We'll see how well it does once cards actually come out for it.

    Does your secretary need the latest and greatest video card, sound card, fastest memory? Gamers are a big enough market to justify the newest procs; the processors will become used by the rest of us in a few years.

    Great, a hundred DOS formats that haven't been used since DOS 1.1, but no Rar format.

    Did they outsource this to a company who makes conversion programs or do it inhouse? It's the worst mix of random formats I've ever seen.

    I use an SGI workstation all the time - it's the only computer lab our school will give our programming class unlimited use of. Huge 21" monitors connected to these IRIX machines everyone hates. You can't do anything practical on them; only SSH into the main server and X window emacs or something.

    3D Graphics and modeling? I'd be happy to have something newer than Netscape 4 that runs decently.

    My camera phone has a 5MB memory integrated and no expansion. Verizon charges $.25/picture to send it and locks my phone so I have to use their service.

    So here we get a phone that takes pictures that are hundreds of times the size of a normal phone. Are the carriers going to charge extra to email them, seeing as data rates are so high?

    Underclock and undervolt a proc and use a good heatsink. Or get a Zalman cooler and set it to the quietest setting. You can barely hear it, if at all, and you won't have to underclock.
