The catch-all on my domain email is getting about 2 of these every minute, and has been for the past 20 hours.
This is really making me angry, and unfortunately there's nothing I can do to filter most of them. I'm only able to filter the ones that have the special messages (7-bit unicode nonsense and just plain 'test')
This virus is hurting everyone; including people who run linux servers who are getting thousands of these emails.
Whatever it is, it's pointless.
If you want to save power, hibernate it, that'll boot faster than whatever this lunix thing does.
But there is NEVER a reason to shut down a Windows XP computer (if you're not installing anything or changing settings).
My computer has been on for 92 days and is still as stable and fast as it was on day 1 (super fast and 100% stable).
i must have went in the wrong direction there...
the main point i was trying to make was the gravitational effects the moon has on the earth are very important. if the moon's mass decreases by 1% (a feasable number for a several thousand year period of time), tides will change... we all die..... blah blah blah.
yes, 1 inch per year, and that rate is slowly increasing.
my comment was covering a very very long time frame. in a thousand years, mining operations (if humans are still alive) will be much, much larger. we need more and more energy, and it won't be just h3... there's other stuff from the moon we could be gathering. (of course if it ends up on earth the average g between the moon and earth will be more the same.. but it won't all be going to earth).
i'm willing to bet in 250 years they'll be using fusion bombs ON the moon to help them gather resources.
You can harness the energy of the nucleus of an atom... so all this is it turning useless energy into mechanical energy.
the real problem here is mining on the moon.
the moon has been retating around the earth for millions and millions and millions (billions?) of years. the only way that is possible is that the mass of the moon is in perfect balance with the distance it is from the earth and velocity that it is moving. if this was not perfect, it would have either floated away, or crashed into the earth years ago. if we add more mass, or mine too much of it away, the balance will change, and over a period of a few thousand years, this will cause it to either begin to float away, or crash into the earth. if it floats away, we can kiss crops goodbye... famine, really high/low tides, you name it.. the earth will topple over. if it crashed into the earth, the same thing will happen, but after everyone freezes to death.
i say we keep the moon the way it is. or at least keep its mass the exact same.

I must be an idiot or something, but could someone please explain why microsoft is generally anti-choice? look at the facts, windows is built to give people the opportunity to choose whatever they want to do. Windows xp HOME. windows xp professional. dos. windows has more features than all other operating systems. apple on the other hand forces people to do certain things... they're the ones who sell computers that are stuck to a monitor. people are forced to upgrade their software because older versions are incompatable. look at windows xp - you can choose a compatability mode. i can run windows 95 software seamlessly.
if you ask me, microsoft has the right to say they are better at giving people options. look at windows media player - it plays EVERYTHING.
I'm sorry, troll? the above comment makes sense.
I am glad that our government is able to get WARRANTS to tap phone lines. They can't get a warrant without probable cause, and if you're innocent, who cares? it's not like there's a good chance that the people listening know you personally so you won't be embarrassed.
You can expect to have a private phone call if you haven't done anything wrong. The possiblity that someone will be listening is very very low (unless you've done something). But for the few times when somebody innocent makes a private phone call and it's tapped into, the chances that it will hurt them is even lower. If a cop knows you just had sex with your dog, who cares? you don't know the cop, i'm sure he doesn't know anybody you know, and nobody you ever come into contact with with know. So for those few innocent people, it's worth it for people to be able to tap into phone lines. Think how many guilty people have been caught due to wire tapping before they have been able to do more bad stuff.
I'm probably hurting my karma here by supporting partial "fascism" (and yes, i'm glad they have to get a warrant. at least that keeps them from abusing their power), but I'd like people to look at negative vs. positive side effects of certain things, and wire tapping does a lot more positive.
i use a backpack for my laptop... it's a perfect fit and i can easily put other accessories in there; including oddly shaped/sized ones. the guy said he was jogging with it.. and backpacks are great for that and built to withstand tension and carry some weight.
and northface and columbia make normal sized backpacks also (and rather tough ones).... so it's still not funny.
for saying this.. it's a pretty good marketing scheme to get people to believe their 32 bit cpu's will be out of date so soon in the future so rather they pay extra money for the 64 bit cpu's.
i believe it'll be at least 5 years for 32 bit to be "out of date". but amd can say whatever they want to get people to pay more money
this is the 2nd type of player archos has created. they started with the JBM then the JBM 20 then the 120 then the 140, which are all similar but with different amounts of HD space.
i got a JBM 20 for $100 (new) and it has been by far the best investment of my life. i don't have to worry about burning MP3 CDs every time i get new music and i don't have to carry a bunch of DVDs (or a DVD player) with me when i'm out of town. the battery life is horrible on the JBM's.. i wonder how long it lasts on the 320...
when a virus causes loss of information (ie kills the computers it infects), i would say it is generally worse than hackers stealing important information (and of course it depends on what negative things would happen with that information)...
the viruses are doing bad things, of course, but from a security standpoint, things will get better, for the future, because of it.
yes, he is. i don't understand why this is even news, we don't need a professor telling us that the best way to make systems more secure is to learn of the insecure parts of the system. If a virus doesn't exploit an insecurity, a hacker will; and often the results of that are far, far worse.
it's funny how you tack on It seems that the space race is heating up again, with many countries getting involved such as China, Europe and Japan to name just three. Will the future of space exploration be dominated by names other than Russia and the USA? to an article about a rocket exploding before it leaves Earth. Why not make that comment about the announcement of the rocket?
of course it's causing more problems, because it's PREVENTING MSBlaster from causing the problems in the first place. any slowage at all would be considered more of a problem than no virus at all.
i did not lie about my age, and i pay 40% of my income to the government - probably a little more taxes than you'll ever pay.
i don't feel like arguing with someone who can't think about things from the right perspective. you obviously are not happy about anything because you need someone or something to blame your problems on. someone as educated as yourself should understand that we give up certain freedoms for protection - i'd like to hear what you think about an anarchy after you've spent a few years living under one.
I'll add here that more people have been killed by their own governments than any other cause (disease, famine, etc.) in the world.
which is exactly why you should be happy about the current government in the USA! (or you should move to GB if you're worried about the death penalty). Spend a few years in any country in africa, any country in south america, and then tell me what you think about the United States. Or even better - get a time machine, go back to the 1930's and 1940's and spend 5 years in the Soviet Union - then tell me what you think of the US.
i don't think i've been rude at all. if i was, and it was the drug's fault, i would still apologize - but all i've done is probably call you an idiot, which is true if you're against all government.
tell me this: would you rather not have a government at all?
ok, my opinion is this: not everything the government does is for individual gain. i think they do, actually try to serve the public, because if they serve the public they get a better image and they're likely to get reappointed/elected/whatever.
you did mention how bill clinton did something to abuse his power, so i'll give you a break since you're not only anti-the-current-government (even if you were just using that as an example to show how the current government can still be abusing power).
and i've had enough of this debate... i've been on drugs for a few days (surgery) so i can't think straight and i have a hard time remembering what we're arguing about.. so yeah...

Michael didn't even rtfa.
Friday it would pump $1 billion of cash and software into a computer training program it has set up with the United Nations
I don't know the full extent of MS's "evil empire", but i'm pretty sure they can't manufacture cash.

yeah..... 1.4 Mhz is definitely the minimum i'd be willing to get.
just hire a head hunter to find you a good head hunter
that's how many of these emails i've gotten.... does it send one email to every alphanumeric combination?
