Even though one senator, Claire McCaskill (D) Missouri, had several meetings with Russians, dinners and what not. Hey, BOTH political parties are two sides of the SAME COIN. They protect each other. If you don't play the game, they will do whatever it takes, to make sure you are on the outside looking in! Explain why, a congress/senator can go to DC, maintain a home in their "home" state (which they never visit), have a house in one of the most expensive areas of the nation, on a salary that pays less than $200,000.00 per year and in a few short years, they are on the millionaires list! Their salary is "chump change" compared to what they get from fund raising, kickbacks, bribes and what not.

  2. Look at smartphones on What Comes After User-Friendly Design? (fastcodesign.com) · · Score: 2

You want to know what comes after so called user friendly? Look no further than your hand, because you are probably clutching one in your hands, afraid to put it down. Smartphones. Instead of being a good user friendly "tool" they have been taken over by the slim/stylish/colorful/fashion conscious types. When a new phone is introduced, they typically tell you or bring out the guy that "designed" the outer shell, who is typically some high end man bun wearing fashion designer. They will tell you how attractive it is, how sleek & stylish it is. Hell, you'd be lucky for them to even bother telling you how well it works AS A PHONE. And, in the past few years since they latched onto this stylish crap, look how the price has skyrocketed into the $1,000.00 range. Most smartphones in the "flagship" range, have build prices of LESS than $300.00, but "command" A THOUSAND dollars or more. Can't blame the manufactures if consumers are stupid enough to line up and pay that for "a phone".

  3. I go buy a new car, or a house, or something else. Oh! Sorry, the horn won't work, the doors on your house won't shut or some other thing. But, not to worry, we'll fix it at a later date. Tell me people would put up with that?

  5. LMAO..."design" on Developer Marco Arment Shares Thoughts On iPhone X's Notch (marco.org) · · Score: 2

In the past few years, cell phone makers appear to have "embraced" the fashion design world, in the manufacturing of a tool, namely the smartphone. Watch just about every announcement, read pretty much any story about a new smartphone, and what's typically the #1 thing they announce? How fashionable, stylish, colorful and slim it is. Heck, if they even mention it, it is at the BOTTOM of the article, on how well it works in it's name...AS A PHONE. You have stupid stories about how "ugly" bezels are, how it detracts from the design to have a hideous camera bump on the back. Instead of having a good tool, they have relegated the smartphone, to the red carpet runways of the hollyWEIRD crowd. It's now nothing more than a status/fashion symbol. Can't wait for the low attention span crowd to move on to something else to screw up, and the smartphone will be off it's silly diet, allowed to wolf down a few pizzas, some cheese fries, gain some WEIGHT. Thicken up the smartphones, put back the LARGER batteries, add some slight bezels to hopefully stave off any impact to the edge of the phone, cracking the screen, place a retractable 5-10x zoom lens and larger camera sensor on the back. This fashion icon crap, is nothing more than a way for manufacturers to jack up the price even more because morons continue to buy into the "fashionable/slim/colorful/stylish" crap. With build costs of the flagships (Apple/Samsung) of around $300 dollars, but "commanding" prices above $1,000 dollars now, you'd thing people would demand the price come back down. Heck, people claim pharmaceutical, oil companies and other are ripping people off, but no one blinks an eye, to overpay for a smartphone.

Considering how children have been (un)educated the past 30+ years, since the "age of political correctness" it doesn't surprise me ONE BIT! Kids today, into their 20's & 30's have become nothing more than 4 second attention span morons, glued to their smartphones, never put them down, would have a heart attack if the stupid battery were to die in the middle of taking a selfie. They have NOT been educated as to the greatness than is the American experience. Before the United States was founded, NO nation on this earth, had it's people be free. Every nation was ruled by a King, Queen, dictator. EVERYTHING was "owned" by whomever was in charge. You could not do as you wished, without the consent of the "ruler". Then, escaping the tyranny of the British empire, people came here, set up a rule of government where the people would rule themselves with laws based on the principal that people should live in accordance to their choice, to be able to do with the fruits of their labors, as they saw fit. Hell, the pilgrims even toyed with collectivism (socialism) and damn near starved to death, had it not been for the indians, and the first thanksgiving. We set up the government, to be ruled by the people (now, we can argue all day long how far off track it is now, but that is besides the point). This 240+ year experiment of FREEDOM was never known until the 1700's. If it is such a bad idea, why do so many flee their nations to come here? Why have so many died, by oppressive governments, who went so far as to build walls to keep their people from leaving? Kids today willingly (adults too) give up their freedoms every time they turn on their bloody phones! They don't understand the rights, and responsibilities that come with being a citizen. To them, the important things are tweets, likes and instagram.

  14. Benchmarks, the last bastion of stupidity. It's like buying a 100,000 sports car, and ONLY driving it within the city limits, with a speed limit of 35mph. The last few years, except for battery saving features, are FAST ENOUGH for what people use them for. Good lord, it's not like people are trying to do quantum physics equations, or solving for Pi. How much processing power is needed for snapchat, youtube, facebook, instagram? Faster and faster processors, the makers tout benchmarks because people are STUPID. Manufacturers stopped innovating, and now just go with more is better. More megapixels, more processing power, more cameras, more colors. Why not? Consumers still eat that garbage up! Benchmarks....nothing more than small kids saying my dog is better than your dog.

Teaching, philosophy, ancient languages and what not. Not a lot of "demand" so to speak for those degrees. Then, when thousands of those hit the street, the salaries DROP because of the supply is greater than the demand. Most kids, would be better served if they went to a two year technical college/school, getting an associate degree in science, computers and the like. More demand for that, as technology grows. I did, in the late 70's. I went to a two year electronics school, got an associate in electronics, NEVER have been unemployed or under employed.
