    Might as well ban that too (though I bet they could at times). They signed a bill banning obscene material on the Internet... I think 1997. It was declared unconsitutional (first amendment) and repealed soon after.

    There you (not "you" as in smitty_one_each, "you" as in many people) go on that "OMG CLOSED SOURCE = BAD" thing again. Just because something isn't open-source doesn't mean that it can't be useful. I know you'd like to think that closed-source things are just awful compared to open-source things, but would you rather have a bad video card with open-source drivers or a much better one with closed-source drivers?

    System Shock 2 was scary.

    Pick up a log on level 4, it says that whoever tries to reprogram a unit (your objective) will feel "soooo much sooooorrooooow...". You head down there, go down a ladder... a voice speaks to you, and you are promptly booby-trapped by worms, flies, and spiders from behind the wall.

    Yeah, but that just enhances the realism in a game like that. Racing around a city in a "Crapula POS" isn't as cool or realistic as racing around a city in an Acura RSX, for example.

    The Air Force did not have reusable manned suborbital rockets in the 50s. There's a difference between a high-altitude testbed and a reusable passenger rocket.

    There's a thing called "testing". Ever heard of it? SpaceShipOne's success shows that their fundamental technology works, and they can proceed with working on SpaceShipTwo or whatever their next project is safe in the knowledge that the underlying parts work.
