I like that. Encase a refrigerator in brick and toss it into a volcano. Keep development costs down. Just need a REALLY LONG extension cord.

Nah make it even simpler, use a geothermally powered refrigerator and then you don't even need the extension cord.

Just wait, pretty soon automakers will start using the DMCA to keep you from repairing your car yourself. That way you have to take it to an "authorized repair center".

I thought they already did that, well not via the DMCA as yet, but by keeping proprietry engine computer management data out of the hands of the 'unauthorized service centres'.

A lot of LAN parties like to run events and call themselves the biggest/first at something without doing any checking at all. If the Big Day In down here in Australia can get a full house of 1000 people I'm sure you can do a LOT better over in the states with a lot more population to work with.

There was a brief time a few decades ago when the essence of my entire being was contained in a single molecule, with no backups! Luckily, I made it through that episode relatively unscathed.
Ever since then, I've been making backups like crazy.

I'm yet to make any fully redundant backups myself as opposed to your incremental ones, however I fear there may have %50 data loss in any such backups and the data space will have to be shared with someone elses.
