Thank God somebody finally mentioned this. I've done it too, and my God it only took like 5 minutes to do and looked like it was untouched when I was finished.
Cost about 20 bucks too for the battery and the tools, I can well imagine I'd have used 200 dollars worth of AA batteries over the years I'd owned that thing if that was my option. And don't even tell me about rechargables, I use them every day for my kids toys...
I'm sure every time a plane is diverted because a kid drops his iPod in the toilet or somebody forgets their Blackberry (if its an 8700g, I just lost mine, so if you could send me the terrorist one, I could use it as I HATE this 7105t) the terrorists are pleased, and in fact, they win.
If we can't live in peace and harmony, and that harmony is disturbed or destroyed by fear of things that MIGHT happen, then the people that created that fear have done their job.
I'm sure things will get better though when we redefine Common Article 3 to fit our needs though, that'll help to placate the masses and make everyone feel all warm and fuzzy for a while anyway.
I signed up for electric and gas service here in Colorado and the person that took my information misunderstood me when I set up my account. I said "Jeff" (gasp, my first name revealed on/.) and she heard "Jess" and lo and behold, in my mailbox shortly thereafter arrived TONS of junk addressed to "Jess." Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I got any phonecalls for "Jess" but I did receive more than my fair share of junkmail, which is equally offensive to me.
The no call list has been pretty effective for my wife and I over the last few years and I can say that I have not been solicited by any companies that I did not have a previous association with.
It's better than it was...where is the national no SPAM list? Oh that's right, I have to opt-out...
Yeah, that G4 in my 15" AiBook is GREAT on saving power, and converting that power to heat that radiates into anything the AiBook is in contact with, be it my desk, my legs, my sofa, etc. I am lucky to get 2 hours from the battery, and that is with occasionally recalibrating it. I thought this was 2006, not 1999.
Add to that the subpar wireless performance and the fairly lackluster processor performance (I have a 1.25ghz with 1.5g of RAM) and this is a pretty middle of the road computer. Now take into consideration the tremendous amount of abuse this laptop has received, the dents in the case, the cup of coffee that spilled into it while it was asleep, etc. and it IS a superior machine, IMO.
In the state of Missouri, or misery as it otherwise might be called, one pays a Personal Property Tax annually on motor vehicles, and it can be nothing to sneeze at, to the tune of hundreds of dollars a year per vehicle owned. It is different than vehicle registration fees, but if one has not paid their Personal Property Tax than vehicle registration renewal is impossible as the incredibly helpful staff at the Missouri DMV will laugh at you if you don't bring in the multitude of safety inspection forms, your personal property tax receipt, verification of insurance and so on to your renewal.
If your truck isn't 20 feet long, like mine, then you aren't driving a truck, you're driving a mini-truck, kind of like a station wagon. And yes, I just ordered my MacBook this morning, 2.0ghz, 80g drive, etc.
I'm not silly enough to pay extra for black though...
Actually, you get free security and stability updates with the last two releases, so people at 10.3.9 get all the security updates and component updates that are independent of the dot dot releases just like the people at 10.4.6 or whatever flavor of 10.4 you choose to run.
Just to clarify. Not that I don't think that the upgrade costs haven't been a little ridiculous, they have been...
Yes, I've noticed it too, and it sucks...
I'm always left clicking things I want to right click. I really wanted to like this mouse, as it is classy looking, but I think it's back to the intellimouse for me.
Just because a bunch of ignorant Americans don't know that Rogers Wireless operates in Canada shouldn't come as that big a surprise given the number of smaller cellular providers scattered all over the country.
I challenge you to name off every wireless provider in Canada, think you know of all of them, eh?
I agree that in the US that 70 bucks a month is a somewhat reasonable amount to pay for broadband, I use Comcast personally for 45 ish a month, but in Europe and Asia, broadband runs 20 ish a month on average for 2x-20x the bandwidth we get here, especially upstream.
That said, since I live in the mountains of Colorado, I'm pretty damn glad to have any broadband connectivity. No DSL in my town, way too far from the telco.
Yeah. Just what we need. Put this idea into some Republican lawmakers' heads and we'll all be watched online constantly and forever.
I just can't believe that we in the USA didn't institute this first. At least with our overpriced broadband connections our ISP's will already be able to afford all the necessary storage to keep this information FOREVER.
Just wait until that job interview where your future potential boss says "lets look into your surfing habits" to see if you fit the company's ethical model.
I mean, come on, what will 350k buy nowadays? Is that enough to equip a full sized office with aeron chairs and furniture? Will there be enough left to purchase hardware? I guess going Open Source will save the M$ tax, so that might cover some of the shortfall, but come on...
These must be the most ridiculous items to be called mobile phones ever. Just what I want to carry, a little talking ball that backtalks to me when I ask it to call someone.
God forbid I miss that important call while scuba diving. I'm sure my clients would love to talk to me underwater.
What's wrong with just making a quality phone with good RF and solid networking...

Freakin' haters.
Oh well.

I guess I should have said "has had" but such as life...
Likewise, bluetooth drains batteries fast. My bluetooth enabled phones seem to die about 1/3 faster with bluetooth on.
Apple already has had an image problem with the iPod batteries, last thing they need is this thing transmitting RF all day long....
Umm, they're tinfoil hats. Tin has way more protective power than aluminum...

Bravo. Wish more Americans could see how ridiculous our election smear process is...
Pisses me off.
I voted for dubya the 1st go around, so I'm not just speaking from my liberal pulpit either.

So much for the right to privacy.
Mostly, I was out of town all weekend and unable to try it and I really was looking forward to playing.
Actually, I wasn't totally joking. After the last few winters here in Vail, I'm looking for more snow...quality snow that is (you know who you are).
Yes, I do believe it is now, officially OK. OK by me that is...
Thank you ocean currents!
Boy, I'm lining up right now to buy tracks for 2.50 a piece...
I can see this taking off like a lead balloon.

HD-DVD! Thank you, thank you.
Next story please...
