What we need is a good old fashioned galactic invasion to kick the space program back in gear. If a military threat was coming from another world you know they would spend a couple trillion on the space program in a heartbeat.
Half the world writes it 4/1 the other half 1/4, the one you use doesn't make it any better then the one they use. It's a big world, you have to expect people to do things differently then you do...but then that would be thinking people are individuals and it's ok to be different
Not to mention ext3 doesn't lose random OS files in the wake of a sudden power failure like reiserfs does. I might be alone on this event but after it happening on 3 different systems at 3 different times I'd think it would be documented more. I've always thought reiserfs was overrated and even if there is a speed increase data integrity is a lot more important to me.
It doesn't bother me that the creator is a convicted murderer, it does bother me that the file system gets away with murder all the time.
To be fair they weren't real vampires, just glorified cannibals. I've had a few crashes and one time in the Enclave base I got stuck under the floor railing and wasn't able to get to the stairs. Only happened once though and wasn't repeatable. I think most of these 'its buggy' people just nitpick over everything for the sake of nitpicking over everything. I've seen graphic glitches, animation glitches, pathing issues and lots of havoc quirks but nothing that would send me on a quest to belittle the game claiming it to be a POS engine.
Try some of the mods that change the armor/hp/damage ratings to be closer to how they were in F1 and F2...I have a level 20 character that gets ripped apart in less then 2 seconds from a single turret. If you're looking for more of a challenge find those mods. If you're on PS3 or XBOX, stop complaining and accept that you have already given into corporate conformity =)
I first played it on the C64 also, and burned the floppy drive out with it from swapping the disks so much. Insert disk 2, insert disk 1, insert disk 3 insert disk 1...but the Citadel was TONS of fun despite the swapping =)
The Scorpion thing...that was best to split your team up so they all didn't get taken out all at once. Medic skills came in super handy at that time. So many great story bits in that game...
Wasteland was an excellent game in its 16 color 1988 glory. 20 years is a long time. I'm sure most people these days wouldn't be able to handle it very well as it's pretty much a text adventure with a map and some repetitive pictures.
F1 and F2 were great games and I enjoyed Tactics, it was different but it was still Fallout...turning off real-time combat made it playable.
That's exactly what I said while playing the demo. Over all the demo is what more demos should be like...the game without the annoying limitations AND you can actually play it for more then 10 minutes if you want.
Also looks like a good story...too bad the game play was so horrendous I had to re download the demo to prove to myself it was that annoying to play.
We need more Demos like Too Human and less games like Too Human
Not to mention trackballs being more accurate for FPS games =)
I never got this argument, everytime I've used a track ball it's all over the place and difficult to control. Even with the sensitivity turned down it's much more difficult to move in a straight line since the thumb joint has a circular motion...unless you're some kind of mutant that has sliding joints, then hail to evolution!
First time I played Zelda TP I couldn't stop thinking how much it was like Metroid Prime except in third person...
That's really the only difference other then story between them. Weapon upgrades, new items to access new locations you couldn't get to before, beat a big boss to get new items/power ups. I know lots of anti-FPS people that love Metriod Prime because it's more of a platformer then a shooter. And constantly shooting at things is a terrible argument, ever play Xevious? That wasn't first person
Don't forget that the up coming Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is aiming to have a Linux client port in the retail box, if they miss the deadline it will be available for download later.
It's not a very old game either, in fact it's not even out yet;-)
Most likely was a poor attempt at humor, as if a company would hand out these $100 laptops without any OS installed and it's such a challenge to pre-compile packages for a static hardware config...
you know Gentoo offers binary (pre-compiled) packages? Kids these days, they hear something once a long time ago and it's all they ever care to know about it for the reset of their lives...
If this isn't an indicator of the sorry state broadband here in the U.S., I'm not sure what is.
I think it's an indicator of the sorry state of Comcast cable internet service. It still baffles me why people continue to spend an outrageous amount of money for a mediocre quality ISP.
I stopped using cable right after Comcast became a monopoly and have not regretted it since. Then after hearing about their frequent network outages and high prices I continue to wonder why people use them.

They also have Mac versions available.
It's always nice to see when a company acknowledges that not everyone uses Windows

Most likely, its what killed the Linux/Mac ports of America's Army. Looks like Gamespy killed UT3 also.

I'm pretty sure you can as long as you have the original DOOM.WAD file, I don't think the shareware version worked with the mods though

you mean the ones that blew themselves up?

And accepting them all as fact is just as stupid if not more
Because "cut" sounds so much more menacing and hostile then "taken off line"...also gives the conspiracy theorists more to go on

That's what most people get Xbox's and Playstations for...
oh, wait...

My dates are all off, it's next week they'll anounce it
:)
let this be a lesson for you kids, get plenty of sleep or you'll make yourself look like a fool in public
It's just an expensive PDA that will do way too many things that most people will never use
We'll see tomorrow...
Maybe all those Latter-day Saints should watch a movie about what are real man of Christ would do!
Orgazmo
