I didn't bother to check if I could play files purchased from apple.com since I haven't bought any yet. I've only played the tracks that I ripped from CD.
First, the DNC list has had zero effect on our business. And yes, we are fully compliant with current laws and regulations.
Caller ID info is going to be required soon, if not already.
When there is no rep to take a call from the dialer (an abandoned call), companies are required to play a message stating who is calling, why, and what phone number you can reach the company at.
The abandonment rate must be no more than 3%. Logs and/or reports must be kept to show this.
It can take up to three months after you've put yourself on the DNC list for it to take affect. Be patient.
FWIW, the company I work for has no interest in harrassing people on the DNC list. It's actually a good thing since we don't waste our time on people that will decline the sale anyways.
I don't need to lie as part of my job. In fact, great care is taken to ensure that I do explain all the details to the customer. Most of the time, when there is a problem with the order, it's the dumbass customer's fault that they weren't listening. Not all telemarketers are dishonest. Unfortunately though, there are a lot of dishonest ones.
If they answer the phone for an outraged citizen they can't take a sales call. When there lines are getting inbound traffic they cannot do outbound traffic.
The telemarking company I work at has a seperate T1 for outbound calling, which, by the way doesn't accept any incoming telephone calls. Duh.
From the view point of a person who owns a Telemarketing company (not me, my boss), 41 million out of 290 million people is not a lot. It isn't going to be a big problem for us.
If you bothered to read the article you would see that it said: "Mr. Gates acknowledged today that the company's error reporting service indicated that 5 percent of all Windows-based computers now crash more than twice each day."
Most people take the telephone for granted.

It isn't until you see an article like this that you realize exactly how much you take for granted when you make a simple phone call. Can you imagine if the Government in your country forced you to use their own crappy telephone service? It's kind of surprising that some people complain about the breaking up of AT&T but the end result is better, cheaper phone service.
They are excellent, but they don't like being moved very quickly. Maybe this has been fixed in newer models?
I purchased an el cheapo Logitech USB/PS2 Optical Mouse for $14 and it has no problems when moving quickly. I did have a different Logitech Optical mouse before and I noticed it would get a little wierd if you were too quick. Usually, upping the speed in the control panel fixed the problem though.
See my other post here about Cox.net's "unlimited" use.
See Cox.com's Limitations of Service.
Personally, I regularly consume quite a bit more bandwidth than I am "supposed" to. However, I've yet to hear from Cox regarding my excessive use.
Okay, so I end up looking like an asshole :-)

Really? Gee, and to think that I just built MPlayer with FAAD2 support just so that I could listen to my AAC tracks. And you know what??? It works!!
And I want to let you know a couple of things.

I maintain about 50 PCs at my office. I've noticed one thing though, most people don't even know what copy & paste is.

What if you didn't click at all and just hit enter?
