Also theres no firephp equivalent for safari, opera or chrome that I could find. firebug itself in ff is far more detailed then similar tools found in safari, opera, and chrome. debugging complex webapps without firefox is just stupid right now. I'm always watching for better tools, and always happy to try out new things. So far nothing out there available gets to the bottom of issues like firefox with a good collection of development plugins.

I blame it on the current talent pool in the midwest. Most of the people we bring in now all have this "video game" degree from the nearby university. Not one of them understands the concept of designing practical solutions. They also do not understand testing. They seem to fall into the duct tape programmer category. Simple obvious decisions about user interface, input formatting, smart security decisions, anticipating user mistakes, these things just dont come with that degree they arrive with. The seasoned programmers here watch the same stupid mistakes getting made over and over again. On the one hand, we desperately need the help, there is so much work to get done and tons of money to be made, on the other hand, these kids that come in just make more work for us in the long run as we keep recoding and recoding the stupid shit that they do. In a few instances, these kids get a degree and find out its not really what they wanted to do with their life. They just got the degree because they liked playing with their wii and their parents were excited to have something their kids would actually pay attention through in school.
I would much rather bring in the mature, more experienced programmer that has been through it all and builds in ways that eliminates all the obvious problems, so we can stay focused on the bigger issues of a project.
Yeah so pretty much legos are in trouble. I'm sure this is reason for panic at corporate.
I notice there were alot of lego things in there that i never seen before, not that i played with them much growing up. Perhaps they will look into the key pieces that made these guns work and consider altering or ending production. Like starting with banning black pieces completely. They also need to add a warning label to every package sold: "Product could be used to build weapons."

To me the very things you describe, the universe as a cold random place, where we are alone and not overwatched by some intelligent force, should be all the more reason why we need empathy toward each other. We are all we have got. We are learning this more and more as science moves forward. This knowledge should be leading us down the path of greater consideration toward each other.
That we are not moving in that direction is an issue of leadership. The old moral codes required a delusion of god in order to work. We need a new moral code that does not share this same weekness.
I cant keep up with the changing of dos and do nots every other question, its more a reading comprehension gotcha quiz, half the time i answer the opposite and have to change my answer and then i get confused and ask for help.

This sounds more like someone who wants to argue that marijuana should be just as legal as beer. I remember hearing people lose that one time and time again. "Beer is only there to make you high so pot should be legal" is the typical whining. But that particular argument will never work. Not in the last century, not in this century.
Beer, wine, liquor, they all have different tastes and different people all prefer them for different reasons, but the effects are essentially the same. If any of his theories were true, people would all be drinking the same thing and there wouldnt be a million different kinds and flavors of beer. The arguments already been done and over with and settled. But some people, no matter how wrong they are, still feel obliged to repeat themselves again and again hoping they might someday sound correct.

But those beers I crave. Not for the effects, but for the taste. Especially with steak. And now im hungry. I didnt have to trick myself or be conditioned. I just tried it once and found it tastes very good and like it with my meal. Very few people I know drink this or like it. They would prefer a lighter beer. The effects are all the same here, the tastes are different.
