Then is it ok for me to rob a bank and then give some of the money I stole to charity? Yes, it is nice that Bill Gates is giving his money away, but you also how to consider how he got the money in the first place. By creating a monopoly and usiing barely legal practices.
So, it's just a clone of MSN written by someone else, still for windows?
The point is that it's a clone of MSN for Linux. And since it uses Tcl/Tk, it can run on any operating system that supports the toolkit: Windows, Linux, Mac OS X.

aMSN 0.95 Released

· Score: 4, Informative
This has been fixed in Tcl/Tk 8.5 as it uses anti-aliased fonts. It is still in beta, but feel free to try it out. http://www.tcl.tk/
The mirror system is bypassed because the packages haven't been synced to all servers yet. If we were to use the mirrors, you would be getting mirror failed messages for most.
I don't think this only applies to open source. Just look at Japan and the cool things they come up with. I'm sure most of them violate several patents and that's why you can only get them in Japan. Why is this possible? It's because the Japanese don't give a crap about stupid US Laws.
It supports quite a lot of stuff MSN7 supports that kopete and gaim's msn plugins don't, like webcam and Ink messages. And it has everything the other linux messengers have like working display pic, custom emotions, file transfter... Only if there was a release soon.:)
It' ok. We, Canadians, always have an easy solution when USA's laws clash with our laws. We change our laws.

What have I missed? I know there has to be SOMEthing! Thoughts? Ideas?
You forgot to patent it.
I suppose because it can be easly understood by a user in terms like percentage. For exaple a song marked 100 will recieve 100% (5) of stars.
...if my favourite game made the list: "Let's Slashdot this server". Seems like it did!

How's the amd64 support in it? Last time I checked it still wasn't stable...
it's all a collection of facts, generated by you being alive and doing stuff. so you should automatically own copyright.
If so, then my personal facts are under the GPL.
Will it speed up the boot up time or also longing in into a desktop? Both take about the same time if you are using KDE.

...just port ASP.Net to Linux?
Without Ken Thompson's "Space Traders" we would have no UNIX. So I think that's the first killer app.
People in the US in particular seem to forget that the only real way to enforce anything is with force.
Actually it's the only thing they seem to remember.
Nah, I think he was refering to SCO.
In other gentoo easy install goodness.
Looking at the screenshots it looks to me like Anaconda Installer (RedHat/Fedora) and not gentoo's command line/new GUI.
It will be funny if sf.net denies them. But then, I guess they got a deal with them already.
Did they develop Microsoft Bob?
Yes they did.
..how much troube will the pages that use the current bugs to their advantage have.
Clearly "Windows Vista" is not the same as "Vista" the software company.
Neighter is Microsoft Windows and Lindows.
Last time I checked internet explorer didn't support transparency in PNG's. So why is google ignoring most of the world then?
If 90% of all email is spam, then there is a high chance that they can randomly flag a email as spam.
