Because people who want a high-end UNIX workstation will purchase a Sun Blade, or an SGI Octane2, or what have you, complete with a robust UNIX such as Solaris or IRIX. Offering Linux(TM) as a cheap alternative to Windows on low-end PCs will help push it to the consumer market much quicker. People will see them and go "Hmm, this Linux one is $100 less than the Windows one, with the same hardware."

You make me sick. You are an unamerican bastard, a vile piece of shit, and an all-around asshole.

Now that's I've gotten the insults out of the way, let me ask just what the fuck is your problem?

Are you really so inept and against defending your country in wartime that you would decry "Microsoft is teh antichrist!!!111" so as to avoid military service?!

I don't know if you're trying to be funny or not, but what you ARE being is the modern-day equivalent of a Vietnam-era tree-hugging hippy burning his draft card in protest.

If you get pulled up for special service, which will probably just involve you doing what you are best at, which is sitting in front of a screen stuffing Cheetos in your fat face all day, only this time you would be serving your country. How is that bad? You would be preserving freedoms and promoting the better cause.

I'm sure many of the anti-MS/pro-Linux crowd here at Slashdot will giggle with glee at the fact that the military bases many operations on Windows software, but what will happen when YOU, Mr. Code Monkey, get a draft letter in the mail? Are all Linux zealots just modern-day draft dodgers?
