Anyway, there are phones with TV (and maybe FM) reception... in Japan!
Seriously, I've read a while ago about a Japanese phone which could do half of what you want. A quick search revealed that it really was a Sharp, as I suspected: Sharp V402SH, the pink one. It's only a matter of time before a cross between that phone and this Samsung appears, then you'd be able to do anything, although I don't think that the battery would last more than a few hours in recording mode.
Branson sighs, puts down the suitcases and glances at his wrist. "It's now either quarter past six," he says, and, after a pause, continues "or Mickey has a hard on."
I'm pretty sure this one won't get far, at least I hope so... What really worries me though is that most people now think that censoring (yes, that's what it is) over-the-air TV is ok. If someone isn't able to get cable for whatever reason, they're basically left with what government says is ok, and that sucks.
I don't have any of the recent Motorola phones, but they used to beep when you turn them on/off with ringer on, but vibrate when the mode was "Vibrate then Ring" or "Vibrate Only".
Now I have a SE T68i (It's so...retro:), it also makes some noise, but not if it's in the Silent mode.
Anyway, the guy should have known that phones make lots of noise when vibrating on a hard surface, and that his model beeps when turned off. Also, all Motorola phones I used (and the T68i) let you turn off the ring without dropping the call, very useful.
Maybe the American government should stop trying to solve problems which don't exist. Or which exist for a stupid minority, but could be solved with a press of a button.
There shouldn't be any fucking decency rules at all! The government has no business deciding what is ok and what's not to say on radio or TV. Not all speech is protected, I know that. But 'decency', which BTW FCC declines to define, is something government shouldn't have any say over. FCC's behavior even scared some stations from airing Saving Private Ryan on Veterans day, when the stations asked if the film was decent enough, FCC didn't answer.
Somebody already mentioned Frank Zappa here, which reminded me of this:
Guy In The Audience: "Whipping Post"! FZ: Say that again please GITA: "Whipping Post"! FZ: "Whipping Post"? Ok, just a second . . . (Do you know that?) Oh sorry, we don't know that one. Anything else? Hum me a few bars of it, please, just show me how it goes, please. Just sing, sing me "Whipping Post" and then maybe we'll play it with you GITA: Ooh-ooh-ooh . .. FZ: Thank you very much. And now . . . Judging from the way you sang it, it must be a John Cage composition, right? Here we go, "Montana."
Why should I read the FAQ, again? Is there a new section saying that occasionally (often would be a better word) advertisements would be posted as regular stories?
Now, assuming you replied to the second part of my comment, reading the FAQ won't change anything. My opinion is still that it's stupid. Deal with it, at least I'm not complaining each time such a story comes up.
> Sort of, except that Apple makes trendsetting hardware and many geeks do care about what apple is elling even if they eventually choose to buy something else.
That's why they should be reminded on the front page, so they remember to buy it from Apple. That's the defenition of an advertisment.
If ppl are so interested in Apple's crap, why don't they just look at their website? This is as stupid as those "IE Bug discovered" each time there is a new one,/. isn't bugtraq!
Trolling? Anyway, somebody already suggested some iRivers, which aren't much cheaper, if at all. My suggestion would be a Creative Zen, either the Xtra (the 60gb model costs the same as 20gb ipod) or the newer Touch, the 20gb one being 50$ cheaper than an iPod of the same size. I don't know how happy would they make you, but I'm perfectly happy with my 60gb Xtra.
There must be something wrong with your device. I have an older PXA-250 PocketPC, and it plays 320x240 divx video fullscreen just fine. I just ran a benchmark and without the speed limiter it ran at 141% speed, 35.2 fps.
Is it more detailed and centralized than Unreal Tournament's (the original) system? I couldn't find an example of what you get from carnagestats, so I can't answer this myself. NetGames USA (the company that provided stats for UT) is now owned by MS, so you can't get anything from them either, but there are some example availible though. Here's one for the last game played, and all time human totals
I still have one of those Casio handheld TVs :-)

Don't worry, you can just try to measure them when a change is needed

Or what if you're Michael Jackson, and your nose just fell off?
ROFL, did you even read the summary? Or were you just karma whoring, cause that's almost exactly what the summary says:
... NO.
Do writers have that same responsibility? Actors?

if I shout "Fuck the FCC motherfuckers up their shitty asses with rubber cocks!" on TV or radio?
Does that count as political speech, or would I (and/or the station) get fined?

On the other hand, twat should be included. Unlike the othere words, twat has no other meaning.
Example:
> In other news, 3M stock up four points
.four, but still
Ahem... only
Microsoft doesn't include IE with Longhorn. They aren't backing away, after all you can still download it, righ?

Holy shit, your comment # ends with 2768! :)

First-gen Nomads do it.
What the fuck is wrong with German people?

FYI, editors don't proofreading articles
eh... wouldn't the average reproduction rate (or x/1000) increase?
