Correct me if I'm wrong, but VNC on a server? You use servers with windowing software on them? You must be new here. Slashdotters (*real* ones) only us CLI on their servers.
Home version of CC is free and has Gallery, Wiki, Samba, etc all easily setup via your browser. Think of it as a souped up router with optional proxy, etc.
Assuming we can find enough grass to feed them, this much methane will cause the oceans to rice in less than a decade.
Well, that's good news actually. If the Oceans turn to rice, we can make Sake and create engines that run efficiently on alcohol. Should solve world hunger too.
In business, IT is given a clear picture of what it needs to achieve, with what support (whether that is financial, HR or policy/procedural). In a school pseudo-anarchy rules.....
You haven't been working in a real business long, have you?
That's funny. No excuses need to be made since a lot of linux users today don't touch the command line.
But you're totally right... I hate having an OS that doesn't crash on a regular basis. I mean, Linux has a long way to go to catch up to Windows. Next thing you know, it'll up and give me choices on what to install for different hardware. I hate having the same programs on my 300MHz, my 1GHz and my 4GHz machines. Such consistency is painful, I tell you... pain.full.
Here's a thought... instead of wasting time on a slashdot article about software you don't plan on using... why don't you download, install and help with said software and actually contribute to OSS instead of whining. Time management is all about priorities.
I hate when people say Bill Gates is the "richest man in the world" In fact he isn't. There are some unrecorded oil tycoons in other countries that are worth trillions. Some of the even get to land on US Aircraft carriers in private aircraft... not even Billy boy does that when one is in town.
You assume he's running it only to heat. The actual factor would be the difference of use of electricity between the intel and AMD compared to price per heat and difference of heat of the two, etc., blah blah blah.
Yes, "Deep Impact" was a good movie. Better than the Liv Tyler/ Bruce Willis one that came out around the same time.
I still think it would have been better, though, if at the end, when the young teenage couple holding the baby on the mountain were looking up and one of those "suitcase size" meteors pounded the top of the mountain.
"it then occurred to me that because of my natural desire to see booty, learning boring subjects became a neccessity and I found them to be a trivial task to master after a while."
Or format it in Windows as 32GB and then use knoppix and QTParted to resize it to full capacity (think free and working PQMagic (that it, it won't choke like PQMagic does sometimes)).

"What happens when the mine "chooses" not be inactivated?"

Wait... there are ARTICLES in the WSJ?
Yes, because we don't want them to wrong good open code, either. :)
I'm surprised I don't see tellico
http://www.periapsis.org/tellico/
you can enter isbn and it pulls summary, title, etc from Amazon (including picture).
You can then enter where it is located, who borrowed it, etc. Works for books, CDs, etc.
Their costs are too high? Always cheaper than Intel as far as bang for the buck, though. How are they too high?

IANAS (I am not a Spaniard) however... if the bull wins, he gets a second chance at life and is put to pasture.
If he loses, he is eaten... some places give him to the less fortunate in the area.
Only on slashdot would someone refer to extra time available in a week as efficiency.
Although immediately after posting this, the parent heard a strange grating noise....

Heck, anyone feel like spending a year trying to get XP running on a 486/66?

This is Slashdot... you must be new here.
Thanks some coffee if it stains your monitor.
I'm so thankful you didn't say, "Keep up the good work."
I wanted to post instead of moderating you FUNNY! You said CNN had unbiased reporting. Muahahahahahahaaaaaa.......
"it then occurred to me that because of my natural desire to see booty, learning boring subjects became a neccessity and I found them to be a trivial task to master after a while."
Learning about women bores you, too?
