It is the fundamental difference between getting information and understanding information. Many would imply that they are one and the same but there is a huge difference. Just reading about something gives your a very basic view of something but hardly makes you an expert or even qualifies to understand the underlying facts. Too many people think that a little reading makes you qualified to extend the facts you are given to other circumstances, or to make extended predictions. When often the facts you read while true may only be so in a very narrow focus or set of circumstances. One needs to be assured that the facts we are given apply to a very narrow set of circumstances before claiming to be an expert in anything.
Unless you prefer not to steal. I too would like my choice of entertainment at no cost but that isn't fair or likely to ever happen. I'd settle for an even break, but realize that isn't going to happen.
generally I agree with what you are saying, but for books I like to keep track so when I catch up to the current I can move on but keep note of release dates for continuing series. Otherwise I find my self never finishing a series in progress. I really don't care if anyone else knows or approves of my reading choices.
If I use an Apple product I am on iOS. If I choose an android environment I can switch between many different device manufacturers. Doesn't seem like a fair comparison.
You'd think the maximum output per minute would have been detailed in the user manual, but it was probably written up as YMMV based on network conditions. I wonder if Flippy requires a direct connection to the net and then could be hacked to serve raw burgers or burn them up and start a fire.
I want a 30 channel subscription that allows me to select all 30 stations from a lineup on a 30 day interval. A menu that allows me to checkbox what stations I want and then change them on a monthly basis. You pay a minimum for just basic connectivity, and then a tiered level that allows you to choose the stations YOU want, not some carefully constructed pack that is calculated to spread the popular channels through out 5 packs which in the end costs you the same or more as you would spend on a traditional tiered system. I want the program to be streamed to me at high speed so I can fast forward and reverse even if it is not on my DVR. I want enough memory in my set top box to store 30 minutes of HD video. I would even stomach a few ads, the more targeted the better, I hate watching ads for diapers or baby food, or feminine products. I hate watching an ad for the show I am currently watching...*cough* El Rey Network. I love hockey but what is the point of the NHL network in the offseason, or for that matter what is the point of OWN period ?
I have a kindle e-reader and it links very nicely to GoodReads. It tracks the books I've read and my ratings. In addition it has a circle of friends option that lets you follow authors or friends and what they are reading. I find it easy to use and a great resource to find new reads. Many authors also use the service and it is kind of cool to see what Stephen King or George Martin is reader as well as the newest authors on Amazon that only publish in e-book format. Michael Anderle and the Kutherian Gambit series is my current line, there are at least 21 of those. https://www.goodreads.com/ For Movies there is always Rotten Tomatoes, and IMDB.
I am not German nor do I know much German history but I thought that this was before the Reichsmark.
SILVER MARK OF THE GERMAN EMPIRE Germany 1 Mark 1873-1887 This silver 1 Mark was introduced in 1873, shortly after Germany was unified under Kaiser Wilhelm. One side of the coin had the denomination and date within an oak wreath. The reverse featured the crowned German Eagle. The 24mm coin was struck in.900 fine silver and contains.1606 troy ounces of silver. It was minted until 1887, when the reverse design was revised.
While I am younger than the parent I was replying to. I just turned 50 and am unfortunately part of the generation that in either participated in or failed to do enough to counteract the continued corporate buyout and corruption of the US system in general. There never was a so-called golden age, but things weren't as bad in the 70's but towards the mid 80's corporations began to purchase anything and everything and PAC's continued the spiral of everything down the tubes. We bought Chinese because it was cheaper without regard to the damage it was causing the economy. Day trading, currency speculation and the financial market/real estate bubble lie directly at the feet of a generation only interested in immediate gratification and a quick buck. I have no kids of my own, but we are responsible for the milksop attention deprived self absorbed douche bag smart phone attached PC/SJW clones in the driver seat today. Sorry folks...
So is Nabisco or whomever currently owns them getting a kickback on this or does it being not even related to the baked goods market free them for violated the naming rights ?
Go outside and snap a picture of what you would see if the TV was a window and have that, or a short length animation with the trees gently moving in the breeze. Unless you had a crappy view of an alleyway or something similar on that side.
Actually you are correct, Blackberry as a mobile device or messenger is a dead or dying thing but QNX is another thing entirely and quite active and very competitive. It is just not a thing that the end-users see much of, being behind the scene so to speak.
I remember when a blackberry device was the thing every executive had to have and quite successful, but iPhones and various other smart phones have marketed their way past and supplanted BB devices almost totally.
Since Blackberry hasn't created anything new or compelling in15 years we feel obligated to try and make some cash off our old crap, that we ripped off from ICQ/AOL/IRC and other software implementations that existed long before we came into being...
Bad things don't happen, didn't happen and won't happen in the future. It seems this political climate has occurred before, Oh yeah in the late 1920's and into the 1930's. If you erase history no one can learn from it, if you hide under the blanket the boogey man can't get you. Even in the US the PC groups are busy tearing down and rewriting history because it is politically inconvenient and not sanitary.
Sad to see what a corporate owner can do or fail to do. Back in the day mountains would have been moved, the peanut gallery would have found hardware, rack space, network facilities, you name it and/. would have been back online in 8 hours. The difference between a labor of love and a job is very much evident... I hope things get back on track soon but the days of wine and roses, and the significance of the Slashdot effect have long since passed us by. Either way nice to see the place functioning again and good luck in the future.
As some have undoubtedly pointed out the true vulnerability of your system depends on exposure and the type of code run on the system, but the idea of patching only a certain segment is less than appetizing. Any business of any size has a tier of test/QA , maybe one of dev, and finally a production line. Obviously you patch one set, test/QA or dev. allow your developers to abuse the hell out of it hopefully, then roll it out to production. The company I currently work for actually has QA engineers who follow a developer provided script and pounds away at any modified branch of code ensuring all the functions do in fact function and they compare results to ensure standard replies etc. It is quite refreshing to see it done correctly for a change.
The last 2 shootings would have been prevented if the FBI would just follow through with the existing laws and procedures. That is the saddest part of a tragic situation. What we don't need is more political grandstanding and passing legislation that fails to address the underlying issues. If the individual doing the shooting has been reported to the FBI but they fail to follow though how is that going to help anyone ?
I don't need or want any 'so-called' smart device that requires net connectivity. Not only do they steal information and violate my privacy, they will most assuredly be bricked when the next best thing pushed by the manufacturer comes along. I can do without something designed for someone basically so lazy that the remote control is too much work.
Perhaps skype imbedded in Internet exploiter is different from the installed version. I do not have an installed version but rather the imbedded version in the outlook mail client I am required to keep for work. But just go on assuming you know everything about everything. It seems to have served you well to this point...
"Better question, who the hell in their right mind knowing what we all know about software and the industry would use windows anything?"
Anyone who works for someone else who requires it. I'd love to have the choice but my current contract and previous one for that matter required Windows 10 and a Hotmail account. The HR software of their choosing was windows only and to get into MSDN and the enterprise support sites you have to use a Hotmail account...

So stop providing your data in unencrypted format to parasitic software companies that store and aggregate it...

Not that it really matters anyway :)
Was it from a Prussian prince ? Just send $120.00 and I will send you 2,000,000 marks.
Very cool thanks for the info...

So you finally admit we have you to blame for the state the world is in today. Thanks for nothing BTW...
