What was the author of this smoking ? I want some:) The avatars' physical behaviors, in-game body language and motions are umm PROGRAMMED. Players DO NOT have control of things like head movements and innate motions. The avatars behave just like the people and sex they were modeled after. While I don't dispute the wealth of sociological information available, I hardly think that pre-programmed body langauge gives insightful clues into human nature other than that of the designers, and judging by the proportions on most female models it is easy to see the MALE art dessigners hands, and grubby finger prints all over:))
Like enforced DRM, enforced licensing and audit requirments. I fail to see a SINGLE TECHNOLOGICAL reason to upgrade from x64 XP to Vista for server smaller servers or advanced desktops, or 2003 for larger clusters or more than dual cpu machines, and many reasons to be seeking alternative solutions to M$ as a whole for server support. I support a homogenous environment Linux, Unix, VMS, MVS, AIX, M$, and yes still OS/2 and there are valid cases for them all, even M$ has its' place in the world.
we tried this method and had little success, too many fumbled handoffs. Have you had much success ? A meshed worksite has been a HOLY GRAIL with my employer for quite some time. We've used a portable virtual-desktop shared terminal system for years waiting for a reliable and SECUREABLE wireless solution so the programmers could all flit about as is their nature.... :)
No the crux is, WHEN SAID company ACCEPTED a US based credit card for payment they were from that point on KNOWINGLY providing an illegal service. It is the same with mail order stuff, you see disclaimers all the time, void where prohibited, and tags such as not valid in <insert domain here>. While I am not sure I agree with that view it's the current precedent both here and in doing business abroad, i.e the EU or China. Personally I think the service is available on the NON-NATIONALISED WEB, and the end user should be responsible for ensuring their usage doesn't violate their local laws and ordinances, but we all know how low common sense ranks on the scale of importance these days:(
The above SHOULD NOT be FLAME BAIT, If you follow the rulings of the various courts of appeal, the 9th circuit is ALWAYS on the cutting edge of things and OFTEN has rulings overturned. By the same token they also provide a really GOOD source of precident for future litigation. I really hope they put the responsibility with the people who deserve it, IF YOU DOWNLOAD MATERIAL you are not entitled to YOU ARE THE CRIMINAL, it should NOT be the one hosts it. I have an ftp server up so I can spool music to work, MP3's cannot reside on the systems, now I have a standard disclaimer but it is anonymous access, if someone goes there and gets all my music files, where does the fault reside ??? The one taking what they KNOW they are not authorized to have of the one making the files potentially available ?
Luckily that is your right and choice, as is my leaving my wap available, I DO LOG traffic, and limit number of IP's and bandwidth, as well as reset the device EVERY NIGHT, but I have no issue with allowing someone to get their email or surf. NOTE: I run a hardware firewall and do enforce a logical separation.
keeps shrinking because LAME A$$ companies continue to fund the same old cookie cutter crap and blame the lack of profit on piracy...Sounds like a tired old record but it worked for one industry why not another...Personally no installed application software HAS ANY BUSINESS in system land, its user app crap and should have no access to drivers PERIOD...
Apple is a good brand ?!?! Err if you are a fanboy, otherwise they are a hugely proprietary, offensive company that regularly sues and threatens there own support base and customers.
Now they DO make some SOLID hardware, and have a decent return to the community policy, but they are proprietary software on a proprietary hardware platform, and even more closed than M$. Note : I don't really like either company, they've both gotten greedy and think they DESERVE to make a profit rather than have to work at it. Neither entity is above utilizing the DMCA or any ohter method to ensure there continued profit, at anyone elses expense...Corporations and MORALS are mutually exclusive...
apple fans who in the face of facts prefer manufactured "I switched propaganda" I would not be in the least suprised to find out many of these so-called fans were in fact apple employees posting under false names. While the same people scream hysterically about M$ and other vendors, if apple pulls a boner, and they DO, the apple fanboy club is busy screaming its a feature....
The road goes both ways and apple is no more our friend than MS or HP is. They all want your money, and would like to ensure they can get it in the future in any way they can. Morals are foreign to a corporation.
it is running Deb 64 and still does circles around my intel boxes. Looking back I'd have to say the mis-management of the century results in the world running MS on x86, when we should be os/2 on aplha. OS/2 did windows better than windows did windows in the beginning and the Aplha arch is simply awesome. Oh well the technically correct solution usually loses to the cheap and dirty solution....
no they should not have tried to scam us in the first place, now they have to do more than just be decent to win that trust back...Why would I NOT use a companies PAST doings for judging them, any other criteria is flaming BS. If your logic was true why do we have 3 strikes laws, and keep conviction records AFTER a person is released...
don't often find myself bumping an AC, but BINGO...
HOW ABOUT we deal with the food divide, and the basic human services divide before we worry about why the citizens in banglidesh can't get infected with code red or surf to the latest DRM media controlled propaganda web site.
What gamer is going to want an X800 ATI chipset ?!?! They blow nuggets when compared to the 6800 Ultra, I've seen both. ATI stepped up with the radeon BIG TIME, NVIDIA just stepped up by that margin or more with the 6800. Dell has nice stuff but their offering is too $$$ and does not include a selection of top of the line components, while loading up with some very lame choices, mostly software. Dell's recovery CD process is assinine as well.
So using that reasoning, I just dialed 100 random phone numbers and no-one else answered so I must be ALONE IN THE WORLD...
How can anyone draw conclusions based on such a MINOR sampling of the available spectrum ? Not to mention the HUGE technical limitations we face. We have not even come close to indentifying all the life forms on our planet and the mryiad of ways life finds to flourish but we are ready to speculate we are alone in the universe...Hubris abounds...
but you've stumbled on to the answer that really works. Everyone should incorporate themselves. "Hello I am Archfeld, President and CEO of Archfeld Inc." All of my property is corporate owned and I am just a representative of said corporation. My asset's are protected from seizure due to my actions. I have HUGE tax break opportunities that are denied the individual, not to mention access to simple things that people don't even notice, like a significant break on utility costs based on the status as a business/corporation...sounds silly but it works. Granted there was an initial outlay of funds to incorporate and continue to maintain the needed papers, but bottom line if you can't beat them, exploit the system they created:)
proccessor U2 computer dropped 9 feet from the back of a truck, broke the motherboard in 3 spots, BROKE the frame, and shook loose nearly every component in the box. The insurance guy insisted we try the machine so I put things back in generally the right spot and OMG the SOB fired up and is STILL RUNNING...I really don't like HP hardwaer but this little tank is an inspiration...The little web box that WOULD. I'll see if I can get some of my pictures of the Frankenstein Web Box up later.
A liar always assumes eveyone else is lying. A poor coder who ensures a living by obsfuscating code behind proprietary rules and can't endure a decent code review, assumes that every one else is a crappy coder as well. I feel the exact opposite is true, and I also think the figures support that kind of view. OSS is NOT perfect, it has many issues and will constantly be an ongoing project, but the openness ensures that should you company/country etc ACTUALLY WANT to check for security you can cross check EVERY LINE OF CODE, how can any closed source EVEN COMPARE. Consider the denial of liability and a closed source, should there be a problem there is NO RECOURSE.
Waste of Money, if you want handwriting get an attached usb pen tablet, better yet use a digital recorder, cheaper, smaller, much easier to use, and if you have just a wee bit of control you can sub-vocalize for them and record you own notes in your own words and voice while the lecture/meeting is onging. Table PC's lock up even more than the average MS product, not that they can't code but they don't communicate internally, and the touch screens BLOW for life span, the hinges fail under a FIERCE GLARE. As for 'handwriting recognition' most don't. OCR is an EXTRA FEATURE, that is at best tricky and unreliable. Heck even the voice recognition stuff in Office XP, though will lacking in polish is MUCH more useable and functional. Having seen, and serviced several incarnations of these, errr poorly conceived unique messes, I'd rather not have to deal with them again.
TECHNOLOGY IS NOT THE FUTURE, PEOPLE ARE. It just seems that tech is the focus because we ARE SO BAD AT IT. When all is said and done, the TECHNOLOGY we push, has NOT made life easier, simpler, or in many cases safer or EVEN more enjoyable, and until it is as ubiquitious and simple as a lightbulb, it will still be wasted effort.
thanks for the info...the dee dee dee may still be relevant just not where I originally intended :)

their products are shoddy and their performance poor. EAX has always been a DOG of a performer and truly hoses simple echo sounding.
I can't do that, My prime DRM directive now insists I have to subdue you for intellectual copyright infringement, this won't hurt much...
