My favorite music related documentaries are:
Scratch - About the birth and evolution of record scratching DJs
and
Buena Vista Social Club - Great documentary about cuban music, as well as an amazing soundtrack
another great documentary is Dishonest - about the justifications of why people cheat (on each other, exams, etc)
mostly listen to The Dad Bros Show. it's about 2 brothers, that are dads. one with 2 girls, the other with 3 boys.
just talk about every day dad stuff, with a mix of current events, and current favorite alcoholic beverages, they try a new one every show.

Here are some pretty cool ones that someone made from Street Fighter 4, took a lot of timing/coordination to get correct.

i wouldn't say that there's always private servers. at least not on consoles. for example, i've been playing a lot of SF4 on PS3 on PSN. i'm not even sure who runs those servers, sony, capcom...some combination of the two? what happens when the numbers dwindle down and they don't want to keep the matchup servers running?
hopefully they would say something like, "hey, we're not supporting these servers anymore, but we'll patch the game to look for public servers, and here's the server code that you can run on your own." that would be nice, but i don't see it happening.
i basically did the same thing, and agree, it works great.
i have a Win7 Premium (comes w/ media center) and the hauppage HD dual tuner card (about $130). i got a refurb dell (dual core 2.8) for about $230. downstairs, i have the computer hooked up to the TV to watch it directly, or i can stream to the xbox 360 upstairs. it does netflix, and any other show that is available on the web:) right now i have a "broadcast" cable subscription, basically because i didn't have much luck with OTA antennas. my cable bill went down from $60 to $12, so it'll pay for itself in no time. i mostly watch network TV and DVDs anyway. i will miss adult swim though
i don't see why this would happen. I run Firefox and Chrome on a P4 3.0 (no multi core) and Chrome's speed blows away FF. My chrome starts almost immediately after I press the icon button in the quick launch tray. FF takes forever to load, I hope they fix that soon (and no, I don't have that many plugins installed)
i've met a lot of people by joining a pool league. i wasn't out to meet new people really, i just wanted to learn to play pool better. the bar i go to has a non-smoking league, so that was bonus!
meeting people is a side effect of being on a team with different people, and playing against other people, and it's fun.
you'd be amazed at how many good pool players there are out there (or you can pick something else, i've seen dodgeball leagues, kickball leagues, softball leagues, etc...)
i wonder if those stats take into account the install base of opera on Wiis.
http://my.opera.com/community/wii/features/
a lot of people got the browser for free, i think it's about $5 now (or however many wii points that is).
I picked up a scratch & dent computer, dual core 2.6, 3 GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive for $220 from the dell outlet.

Considering it came with a licensed OS, it was cheaper than me building one.
just keep an eye on there, because they go quick. if it turns out that you can buy a better computer than what you have, just keep the new one and give her the old one...win-win?
they must have some kind of white list of phrases with special symbols. If you type in something related to c#, the suggest drop-down removes the # sign, but the results return the proper c# query.
no doubt...i was just saying that "balance" doesn't really come into play since you download whatever characters you want in the first place. if you think a character is too powerful, kick them out:)
I think as a customer, that I would prefer that it were a private company. Is anyone concerned that the government would be able to track the websites that you visit pretty easily, I mean...they'd already own the log files, right?
I agree, I do enjoy spectating certain types of games. Street Fighter tourneys might be one of them. I'm looking forward to this indie documentary

SF is interesting to watch because you get to see how pros play, learn new combos, styles of fighting, etc. It's 1 on 1, and all the action takes place on one screen. i think it's hard to spectate FPS games, or team based games, where different screen "see" different angles of the same action
I guess the studios are saying that they don't need to do an R-rated Batman to see the proof. They already proved with the Dark Knight and the Batman animated series, that you can have a really good Batman story without the R rating.
yes, not only that, but you CAN get good deals on PS3s already if people look a little harder.
For example, they were running a promo, where if you opened up a Sony credit card (I think through chase) you got $150 off your first purchase. so, $400 (retail PS3) - $150= $250. That means you CAN get a PS3 for the same price as a Wii, and you get the BD player, etc...
I do have to say that Chrome's speed is makes me use it more and more, and firefox less and less.
I LOVE how Chrome opens up instantly, the second that I let go of the icon to open it. It takes me 20-30 seconds to open up firefox on the same machine. Why is this? I really think Visual Studio opens up faster for me.
Firefox: Please fix this.
I've been using Pound for a few years now without any major issues. It also gets updated frequently enough, and you can use it as an SSL accelerator if you have the hardware for it.
that's funny that you should mention that. When I saw the movie with my mother (who grew up in Ecuador), we talked about how easily the movie could have been set in any 3rd world country, and it would have been just as good.
have you seen City of God? It takes place in Brazil, I recommend it.
having grown up in a 3rd world country (Ecuador), I can say that I have been exposed to some level of poverty (my family wasn't poor, but you saw all the little kids in the streets, like in Slumdog).
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and not because I was exposed to something I hadn't seen before (poverty), but because it was actually a great movie. What's not to like about a kid who overcomes so much to be with the one he loves?
maybe they should have said most recognized.
i think more people can tell you who won what oscar last year, than they can tell you who the nobel prize, and for what...
I remember an assignment that I had that had loops and case statements etc was to print out the 12 days of Christmas. It'd be in season too:)
Also, even though I learned on C++ first, I think learning a scripted language or something that can help generate HTML would go a long way. I wouldn't bother with truly compiled code at this point, it'd be an additional concept that you'd have to teach when you don't necessarily need to (the translation from txt to machine, etc).
I know when I program, I like to see results immediately, it doesn't get my quicker than to change a word here or there, then pull up your web browser again, or refresh it.

it has the ability to create/edit your own characters, you can make whatever you like.

I've heard WiiHD
I only hope Windows 7 is as good as Mojave :)
I got mine for $300 (although you can do $250 now) through the playstation credit card deal. They might still have this deal going on: http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/11/24/get-a-playstation-credit-card-get-150-off-ps3-purchase/
