    Our act is substantially cleaned up nowadays, however there's still a few ngos in the woodpile, so to speak.
    No we're just smoke and mirrors (and lawyers) for all the lawyers in Seattle, Houston and Washington (most recent three who've been caught).
    It's harder to open a personal bank account here than almost anywhere else, however if you're a Haliburton subsidiary......

    Twaddle... AD is a poor response to Edir, too late and a few slices short.
    It's single platform, and brings all the 'inSecurity' features of Win32 to what is meant to be an identity management solution.

    Earlier this year I attended a trade seminar http://www.retailsystems.com/ with a Walmart phb-type as a speaker. After a ton of other statistics he remarked that certain items (pampers for instance) can turn more than once a day. As they pay their suppliers on 15 days (best payers in the business) they get 15 days worth of sales WITHOUT OUTLAY. Their cash management function has about $13bn on deposit at any one time. They don't need the stored value cards, Procter & Gamble are lending them ten times as much.....

    Also on LP, the discussion switched to self-checkout. Somone asked him whether they tusted their customers enough... apologies to the parent post but his response was that the customers were at least as honest as the cashiers, probably more so.

    And finally, on the cameras. The black domes you've seen in the ceiling aren't the only eyes in the sky. Check out the pinhole in that motion detector......

    you make it sound like an overnight conversion.... reliably (well at least according to more than one set of sleevenotes) he was a struggling and strictly local performer, stopped performing for a year or more and then came back with new material and got a following. He never endorsed the 'devil' stories, but he referred to the devil (usually as a female) in several songs.

    I fully agree. IBM tried this years ago with OS/2 Warp and... er, dunno about merlin, afaik that's a trade name for the engine in the spitfire.... OS/2 code base was a joint development with MS NT. There was a major falling out over MS decision to pull out (no doubt taking all of IBM's IP with them)

    Nope, the idea of Citrix was (before Terminal Server) to make the piss-poor NT3.5 SERVER act like a .... well, server.
    When MS bought winframe's technology to 'invent' terminal server, Citrix introduced Metaframe with basically better management tools and the ICA protocol. MS TS is much better than it was but it's very limited. Metaframe still as cranky as hell but its faster. A server that can't reliably run two nics, sheesh.....
