Because the fact that another company just blatantly stole the iTunes design that Apple invested years and thousands (perhaps millions) of dollars in research of. They made it, they own it.
I said this when the Gamecube was announced. It has the IBM PPC chip in it, just like the Macs. It has the ATI nVidia GFX-card in it, just like the Macs. Both had cube form factors. Ironic, isn't it?

Sorry to say, but this collective fear against RFID is just ignorance. The bus company where I live in Sweden has RFID bus-passes and it works like a charm. You don't even need to pull them out of the wallet! It's extremely convenient. I'm a person that's used the technology for over a year so I know what I am talking about. Sure, a bus-pass is different from a credit card, then again, I suspect that you still need to enter your code to charge it.
Steve Jobs is a life-long Democrat (and Apple is runned by Democrats. Basically of Apple's board members have donated $2000 to Kerry), Washington Post is a renowned right winged satellite of the GOP smear machine. 'nuff said.
Last time I checked (one minute ago) N.E.R.D's Fly or Die album was on sale for $13.99. That's 14 bucks for twelve songs, two whom you can only get by purchasing the entire album. Washington Post are, as Al Franken would say, "LIIIAAAAAARS!"
a laptop three times the cost that is not as feature rich
Not feature rich...?
Does that include the built in Bluetooth? DVD-burner? Thin size and quality design? Firewire 800? Optic Keyboard Sensory? Gigabit ethernet? Mac OS X? (incl. iLife, etc.) and long battery life?
Every single time I've used theme changers for my Mac, which has been a lot of times (more than ten) it always end with that I turn it back in to Aqua. Why? It's the most eye pleasing theme there is. The same thing now applies to Panther from Jaguar -- I can't believe that I actually used a system where the stripes were so rough before! Apple really knows what it's doing.
Simple economics: Creating is what Apple does best. They innovate and get rewarded for that in the form of money, which gives the developers even more urge to earn more money in form of creating more and better products. That's why in our society we have a thing called copyrights and patents. Tell me how many medications would be researched and created if we didn't have patents? Not many. When we're talking about software patents here on Slashdot, on how I look it I'm not thinking wether there should be or should not be patents, I'm thinking of how long those individual companies or persons should be allowed to hold on to those patents. In the open source market a lot of people work for free hence they're not rewarded for creating new things ("Why do it then?"). So instead of having innovation we're having a bunch of copycats doing their thing.
The conclusion is that with copyrights and patents, creation is rewarded.
I didn't want to make this comparison because it's so "tabu", but it really is communism (open source) versus capitalism (closed source).
According to IBM's roadmap, some years from now the IBM PPC processor will be able to emulate the x86 architecture with little speed down. Sorry, I have no source of this, but it is what I have heard and give an easy explanation why Microsoft picked the G5:ish processors in the first place.
What a coincidence! When I was talking about roadsigns in kilometers I was thinking about Tuscon! I guess this mostly has to do with the university and that foreign students come there.
That's pretty funny: If SCO claims this virus contain portions of their code -- they could sue the pants off everyone who has the virus on their machines. Imagine milions and millions of people who have illegally obtained their property on to their machines... They could make riches off of this!
Around Universities in the US every roadsign in kilometers. My father works for a vitamin company in the US, and he use the metric system anyway. Big deal if it's not official in the country, if enough many people start to use it, it's going to catch on -- just like the word THRU.
You're just another apple fanatic fighting the OS battle that was effectively lost 11 years ago.
You work for Microsoft?
its normal and healthy.
... no wonder you think it's normal and healthy to steal from others.
Why do you care?
Because the fact that another company just blatantly stole the iTunes design that Apple invested years and thousands (perhaps millions) of dollars in research of. They made it, they own it.

Thank god... Maybe Apple now can sue the makers of Lsongs because they completely ripped them off.

It's owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, famous for it's purpose to spread right winged fascism ideology.

And now Tivo. Nothing new here. But it can be temporary too -- Nintendo almost became one in the early nineties but died out later for example.

It's because of inflation (software prices) versus technological advancement (hardware prices)?
but rather develop better democracies?
Companies like MMORPGS because of zero piracy (everybody have connect to a central server to play) and everybody have to pay to play it.
Oh, and good luck building your own pirated server lol
It's because nobody earn any money on it.

What about porn movie? That'd be pretty funny.

Interesting? I remember reading about Ununpentium years ago right here. How can this be news?

Too many Etcha-a-sketch-George-W-Bush-Jokes! Gaaaaah!
Agh! I'm a Mortal Kombat-fanatic and I haven't even heard about that Saddam-code that he's talking about. Anybody got a screenshot to share? :-)
