The theory I go buy is to cap my upload just under my max of 40 KBps to about 25 - 30.

I dont know if it works, but it is my strategy.

If that is gaming the system I dont care cus I ALWAYS share back to a 1:1 ratio and for the stuff I really like or the stuff offered by non profits such as linux sites, I will tell Azureus to keep uploading (I have it set to auto stop at 1:1 ratio)

I'm only a sophomore CS student at UT austin, but I believe I have the answer.

A stack is a data structure designed with last in, first out. The perfect example is a stack of dishes that need to be washed. I wash the dishes on the top, and as my assistants bring in more dishes I end up washing the newer ones first rather than the older dishes.

However I dont exactly know how TCP/IP makes use of a stack.

Yes, to a certain size. But since the atmosphere is thinner, there will be less friction therefore smaller meteors will make it to the ground while a comparable sized meteor would have burned up in Earth's atmosphere.

I still think its dumb to even consider terraforming mars until we bring it's gravity up to earth's level, that means hundreds, if not thousands, of years of asteroid impacts and space dust.

Then mars would support a thicker atmosphere and if you were really ambitious you would hold off until we had the technology to smack mars with something the size of the moon, nearly breaking it in two. Then when the combined gravity pulls the 2 masses back into a sphere ther will be a significant production of heat and mars would once again have an active magma system like earth does.

  20. Re:What about people who want to kill their IP? on Lessig Legal Team Needs Your Copyright Stories · · Score: 1

In the edition case most likely it would fall in your favor because you are still releasing the work, even though it is revised.

However I could see a lawsuit brought against you to allow the copying of the older version if they thought they could prove that you took a good book, and utterly destroyed it, through censoring or bad grammar, more mistakes, or took out some of the better examples from the previous edition. In that case I could see a reasonable court (jury or judge) then allowing the copying of at least the omitted/"better" material from the previous edition, less likely would it grant copying of the whole thing.

"Or what if I just decide that I don't want my book/photo/software/whatever circulating any more? Maybe I had a religious conversion and decided that my IP is no longer fit for use in any decent society, so now I want to bury it. If it's my property, don't I have the right to lock it away?"

Well that is a bit of a debate but copyright has a dual purpose. Its main purpose is to encourage the spreading of knowledge and the arts. The framers felt that the best way to encourage this would be to allow the creators a LIMITED monopoly on their creations. The point at which the author's actions no longer benefit society is the point at which he may lose his protection under copyright law.

Now no one is going to force you to keep publishing your work which you now believe to be the greatest sin you ever committed. Instead once you decide to stop publishing it Lessig wants the public to have the right to make its own copies because you have abandoned your work.
