No this isn't a troll, I used Free and OpenBSD's; but why do we need this.
I still haven't found a necessity for SMP OpenBSD yet, if I need a box to run X or anything else that would work the CPUs, i'd choose FreeBSD, just for the package system.
What's really lagging in OpenBSD is an easy to use port/package system; SMP is long down the line.
Anybody that uses OpenBSD like I do, please tell me why we need OpenBSD, I use it for security, not for dual/quad/etc processor servers.
I'd be willing to bet it's because they're all using the same BSD-licensed code.
Remember, all three have FreeBSD code in there, I can see it easily feasible that this racoon program has some sort of implementation on all three 'genres' of OS.
If you think all a mac is, IS the digital hub, you're horribly wrong. I work on everything on my iBook, java dev, mail, writing papers, researching, AND the digital media stuff.
A mac is a computer, just like a wintel box is a computer.
And if you want games, buy a freakin Xbox; more people buy a computer to USE it, instead of to play games
First off, if you're the ass typing late at night on an old IBM keyboard that CLICKS loudly, you're being a dick; be polite, I know you're in college, but you'll have better relations if you chip out the $20 for a quieter keyboard and mouse.
Secondly, don't be the retard that has to type up something major late at night. Get your work done soon, it's better to come in late from partying, than to type away for an hour, while your room mate is sleeping.
Just remember, MacOS 9 stll works JUST fine on older hardware; even macOS 8. Apple intended to make the switch to the 'new-world' mac's with MacOS 10.
Don't gripe about older hardware support; it's just like the move from 16 bit to 32 bit; or from 68K macs to PPC. It's part of the companies views and goals. Change hurts, get over not being able to support MacOS X on NuBus, or early G3's.
It'd be easier to recertify or learn a new trade. Visiting a foreign country is one thing; moving to work somewhere else is quite impractical, unless you have no other choices
I was actually looking into Athlon 64's today; and i'm not seeing the price benefit compared to a PowerMac G5.
Right now, there's no GREAT 64 bit OS out there (linux, forget XP 64bit) I think we should treat Athlon64 like MacOS 10.0 (sorry, i'm a mac guy) for early adopters only
Give it another 6 months, then it'll be a great server/workstation solution
Why not just hold onto it a year, extend AppleCare, and then later when you want to upgrade, sell on eBay for about 80%-90% of the current price, and get a new one.
Sheesh, you don't have to mod everything, use some logic kiddos

Duh, it's a hoax.
/.'ers would look into something this much, i'm proud to be one of them :-p
Since when have hoaxes needed accurate info?
Only geeks or
News for nerds, stuff that matters........
Maybe i'm just as lcued in on the 'online pretend simulated people type thing"
And somehow i'll still be interested on seeing who wins!
oi
Yes, it's a SONY.
On Apple.com they sell 'it-just-works-peripherals'
This device is not one of them, go troll somewhere else

the 'cool as hell qualities.'
Does this question strike anybody; how much, alchohol/time/delirium must a person have to mix hamsters, small rodent aminamals, and MIDI.......
Something just seems......weird here.
Ohhhhhh how beautiful geek-love is :)
It's a troll but i'll bite, need to kill time.

Were you trying to be funny?!
;)
Doesn't the lameness filter catch such horrible attempts at jokes?
I'll touch on a couple things, as a roommate.

Common sense, c'mon people.

I own the same iPaq, and i'm really excited about this; BUT.
Say the installation screws up, or I don't like it; how could I get Windows CE back on my iPaq? Any takers?
With a couple of books, they're really worth the money. My Bio book is enormous, and has to cover a lot of material; therefore worth the money.
About the used book thing, that's total bullshit, and i'm glad my college doesn't do it.
Nope, but please, go ahead and make one ;)
NetBSD : Portable
OpenBSD : Secure
FreeBSD : Stable
LiveBSD : CD???
Just a thought
Does it run on linu.....
Oh nevermind

With no centralized 'nervous system' it's almost a duh.
But don't think of it as "thinking" the individual cells act on instinct and survival
This is where piracy kills your sales, not in little susie who downloaded 2GB for her own music collection.
It's those in foreign countries that are actually reselling it.
maybe because more men life pr0n, myself included.
::cough::nerds faking it::cough::
I've only met a couple of women EVER that were into pr0n, well, actual women, not those "online women"
Johnny see warranty go RIGHT out the window.

Cry me a river
Price to start film photography: >$100 (film & camera)
Price to start digital photography: $200 (camera, possible extra card)
Because they will, until they stop allowing companies to ream them on price, companies will go for the higher returns.
It's that simple canada, don't take it.
