Yes, it probably is. Since I started WoWing I haven't been playing as many other games and definitely not buying any. It doesn't help that there haven't been many games that have been released lately that interest me. Eventually I'll grow tired of WoW and the next new big games that interests me will come along and I'll stop. But until then I won't be spending my money on other games.
My uncle's, cousin's, mother's, brother who works at a video game store told me that the DS might be selling better but he's not so sure since he only works part time.
I have no numbers and will make no claims about which is winning. I agree with you that the upcoming games for the DS sound impressive and may give it an advantage over the PSP.
More times than I can play Metel Gear, Grand Theft Auto, Grand Tourismo, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, HALO, and any number of other games. I guarantee that if those game series had been released in the NES days we'd have GTA 10 or something like that.
I say good for them. I don't see much of a down side for them to keep trying with the N-Gage. I'm sure some stock holders might not be happy with the decision but me, as an average gamer, has no problem with them trying again and again and whatever until they get sick of it. At it's worst it'll be a waste of money for Nokia and at best it'll add something new to the video game industry. I doubt the N-Gage will ever succeed but if it does I'll be there to get one.
I may be wrong about this but at or right around release time GameCube had Smash Bros. and Star Wars Rogue Squadron. Thinking back PS2 had.... Fantavision?
I remember the first time I played Crazy Taxi in the arcade. It was one of the machines where you sit down at the wheel and go nuts. After playing for a couple hours I hopped in my car and almost killed myself. It turns out you can do "Crazy Drifts" in a Buick.
Nicked us Americans can get for the most part. It's crazy crap like "nappy" instead of diaper or "snog" instead of kiss that makes us wonder what the heck you put in your tea.
What are you talking about? The media only reports the truth, not what they think their audience wants to hear in order to make more money. This is American son, land of the free, land of unbiased media.
I wouldn't say that's a forgone conclusion. The Playstation consoles have major brand-name recognition and a considerable following, consisting heavily of the 18-25 gamers...
I fit into that age range and this part of the description and I have to say that it's a forgone conclusion for me. Being young and starting out in life I don't have a lot of money. Mommy and daddy aren't rich. I don't have a college degree. I'm in the military and they sure don't pay me a lot. $349 is a lot of money. In fact that's a car payment plus car insurance for me. And I'm sure I'm only one of many people for whom $349 is just too much.
Sony also says that there will be 120 new Playstation 2 games with online compatibility by the end of the year.
It seems to me that Sony has always favored quantity over quality. If you go to any game store or video rental place there are many more PS and PS2 games than there are for the other consoles. And most of the PS2 games aren't all that good. I'd bet the ratio for good games to total games for PS2 compared to the GameCube and X-box is much lower.
Yes, they probably should let it die. I'd much rather see it die than have another bad movie/series/game with the Star Trek name come out. At this point executives are just trying to squeeze every last cent out of Star Trek no matter what happens to the franchise.
Single player HALO sucked. Almost all the stages could have been 75% smaller but they just had a lot of repetition. Especially the Library or whatever the Hell it was called. The reason HALO is given so much praise is for it's multi-player aspects. I've had a blast every time I've gotten together with 15 other friends and done HALO parties. The ability to link 4 X-boxes together is great and makes for a very enjoyable night.
And the best part of HALO has to be cloaking and then running around and pistol-whipping everyone in the back of the head.
No, super realistic graphics is not the most important thing in video games. There needs to be gameplay to make a game good. One of my favorite games is Combat Mission which is an incredible WWII strategy game. The graphics are a weak by todays standards but the gameplay is amazing and very realistic which is what makes the game.
Graphics might be good to look at but if there's no gameplay what's the point of putting down $50? If it's no fun, no matter how life like it looks I'm not going to spend my hard earned money on it.

Only time will tell if that actually happens.
Now this I'm 100% with you on. =)

Forget back in the day, I say that now.

Hasn't something like this already been done?

Merry Christmas all!
800 posts later, Slashdotters still are complaining about the dupe.
Dooooooooom, the PSP is dooooooooooomed.

Actually, you could for a while now, Madden '05 is out on the GBA.

That's great but does your Dell PDA have a disc to spin and a laser to read the information of the disc?

Nah, what am I thinking?
Considering this is /. I highly doubt it.
