That is an excellent theory and I think I buy it. I just wish it was "official", but then, I doubt DNA would have openly ever stated exactly what the question was (apart from his famous comment as to where he got the answer). Its all a part of the mythos I guess.
I was at the Toronto Film Festival a few years ago and they'd done a film about him (here)
We walked out on that film. What made the hour we sat in that theatre more offensive than interesting was that this guy wore his gear around, really had no idea what to do with it, and had a huge ego because he had toys on his head that other people didn't. It wasen't that it was a hobby: cool, but possibly inapplicable to real life, but that he thought he was onto something important and he wasen't. I mean, he'd walk into a WalMart and set up a fuss when they told him no cameras in the store.
Why the university keeps him on I have no idea. If someone can tell me, I'd like to know (seriously, I would like to know).
They used to have ads in books, believe it or not. I've got some
Robert E Howard
paperbacks from the '60s (IIRC) and in the middle of the books are two leafs (4 pages) of full colour glossy, cigarette adds.
It seems like the only thing I can do being a dirt-poor student.
But it seriously makes me mad, our species sux.
Even if you don't believe these doomsday predictions (and they may not be true), wildlife desperately needs protection. Stop posting here and do something positve if you're not already.
Some of the guys at the office gave one employee an inflatable sheep. I wasen't there at the time, I mean it was already legend long ago, but apparently they gave it to him in front of all the office.
It didn't have any holes, but it was, an inflatable sheep.
It made me wonder too as thats what I am (I think). I mean, I don't code...
The fine link between geek and non-geek becomes particularly blurred when talking about "guitar geeks". I mean are they geeks or just knobs? I've always thought the latter but who am I to say?
There were stories about Saddam buying playstations to guide his missiles years ago. I don't believe any of them, I mean, in WWII Germany launched missiles from Germany to England and all they needed for guidance was gyroscopes. How difficult can it be to guide missiles then?
Course I could be wrong, maybe they'll be using the chips for different applications...
If its the one cut then it'll be because NZ doesn't have any sweeping Arabian Nights deserts to film it in. I really hope they don't cut that one.
The scene when whats-her-name is about to kill herself and the horse intervenes by talking get me everytime. (Sorry I'd look her name up but its' packed as I'm moving houses, the comp is the last thing to go so I can still post...).
Actually I strongly suspect that Revolutions was released simultaineously across the world for the same reason they didn't have a gala screening of it: it was so bad that they didn't want the word of what it was like to leak out till everyone had already paid to see it.
I must have missed the trailers, theres so little I see in the theatres....
I saw the film on VCD import which I picked up at a Chinese Store.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of playing the film (well most of it) to some nephews and everytime they come over now the ask to see it. I must have watched it over 15 times by now....
But its still fun everytime (just grindingly familiar).
IIRC there was at least one entire song and dance number in the street in the first half of the film, is that what you were referring too?
I agree with you about Hero, its a near perfect combination of fighting and drama, I mean, the characters relate to each other through their fights with each other and thier enemies. Its all loyalty, love, and anger.
If I had to sum up Hero in a sentance, I'd say that its like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, except that its got a gripping story behind it and is actually good (unlike CTHD).
Put your DVD in and it'll create an iso of the disc for you with 1 or 2 clicks while removing regionj coding (IIRC). Free too. Great product (and fully legal in Canada, at least, right now it is).
Theres also a III, but it doesn't star Jackie Chan.
Drunken Master 1 - horrible 1970s kung-fu flick except for the fighting techniques, which are brilliant.
DM II - The USian Legend of Drunken Master. Note if you get an Asian release of this film you will also get the end scene which was cut from the US release.
They were amazing. 3D, like you were there.
I like it.
and I thought my neighbours had a tire fire going every weekend.

Couse I hope I'm wrong.
Regardless, your theory is by far the most interesting I've read on the book.
Thats interesting because in the film he was portrayed as being an employee of the university, or at least thats the impression I got out of it.

So thanks man, I think I'll put that dvd of the Two Towers right back on and forget what I just saw...
Thats cuz theres mice in your house. Dum Dum

Should this be a poll?

I must have kilos of opals inside me!
I know, I know, I'm there too, I just stopped raving long ago. Liking good films is a vice in that its' virtually anti-social.
What films do you like?
You, Sir, are ignorant and obviously haven't talked to many Christians. Most of us are as excited about the possibility of alien life as you are.
And I really like the idea of the Open-Source encyclopedia being broadcast for beginning or non-interstellar races (as posted below).

Sadly I missed it, just couldn't make it out for the one weekend it played here. And its soo much better than any of the hollywood crap.
