Typical scenario, and no, I don't make this shit up. Although, the stolen items & currency are usually refunded, it's just asking for trouble if you sign up for something like this. Don't give your password(s) out to complete strangers, and you'll be better off for it.

To the submitter : Get a laptop. Seriously, they've never been so cheap as they are today. You can get a *FULL FEATURED* laptop for around $500, if that. A Mac mini or a used Powerbook are two other good suggestions, and both require a lot less maintenance / tweaking.

    -----SHAMELESS PLUG WARNING-----

Speaking of I-openers, I have a V1 I-opener for sale if anyones interested in it.

$50 and it's yours, seriously take it off my hands. We'll set up something on Paypal or Ebay, I'll UPS it out the minute I get payment. I can't seem to get rid of the thing. If you're in the greater Chicagoland area, I'll even come gladly deliver & power it up for you myself.

The screen is a tad yellowed from being so old, but I really only booted it up once or twice, with the intention of modding it, and never got around to it. It still boots to this very day. It's a V1 without the gooped up bios, so you can pretty much go to town with it.

Not trolling, or bullshitting. E-mail me, we'll talk price. I'm more than willing to go the extra mile to ship this thing out to someone who will actually use it.

    Thanks for your time.

It's a little too open ended. I can't stand playing games where I know what's going to happen, or having to go down a static route to achieve my goal. However, Oblivion kind of just throws you in the role, without any training or walkthroughs, or DIRECTION. The weapon & armor system is confusing, the leveling is equally as confusing, and the training system leaves a bit to be desired.

Yes, I'm one of 4 people who don't strongly love this game, but it does have some glaring problems.

One of the worst bugs i've encountered has to do with a horse you acquire during the game. The NPC's in the game do not understand that your horse isn't stolen, so they chase after you (even important quest NPC's, Martin did this) until they kill either you or the horse. This obviously is a game breaking problem, you could wind up dead or in jail because of something you have no control over.

Otherwise, it's a good game - just add some tutorials and make the interface a little more user friendly. I've been playing it for 3 days and I still can't figure out what dictates weapon power, or how I fit in to the 'thief' category while i'm running around with a long sword & shield.

Come on - you pay a premium price for a reason. Not because of the hardware, but what powers it. Take a gander at their system specs and try to build your own x86 box, you will do it cheaper, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Please, stop perpetuating this crap on Slashdot. It's completely worthless, and it just reeks of this immature 'because we can' attitude.

Please... saying Tron flopped at the box office is like saying Gigli is a thought provoking masterpiece. Box office sales may have been somewhat pale, but they're comparing it to Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., and Conan the Barbarian which were also released around the same time.

Very misleading summary. Tron was, and still is, a nice piece of movie history. The arcade game was also great, I could almost guarantee there is a Tron machine within 50 miles of wherever you're reading this from.

I'd love to see a movie sequel, but knowing Hollywood & the way they bastardize everything, it would star Lindsay Lohan, The Rock, and a monkey that solves crime.

A word of advice from your friendly internet gamer : Pre-order a few PS3's.

Sell them for an inflated price when there's a mad rush to purchase them, and it will cover the cost for whatever time you've put in to it. If demand seems like it's going to be really good, i'd buy more than two if I had enough cash. It wont matter what the production costs are if there's some kind of a shortage, which there usually always is.

I've sold consoles like that on ebay & by word of mouth to several people in the greater Chicagoland area. $500 Xbox 360 may make the baby jesus cry, but for some rich fscker in Naperville, it was just the right price. Kind of OT, but, a true story.

  9. great game on HL2 Not Required For Episode 1 · · Score: 0, Offtopic

The way I see it, ValVe has two options :

    1) Release each episode at $9.95 a pop, making it reasonable for people to purchase them now, as well as future episodes.

    2) Stifle the Star Wars-esque episode crap, and just dedicate resources to a full expansion & engine update.

$20 seems a bit excessive for a glorified map pack, and I certainly wouldn't purchase multiple episodes at that price. If I wanted the proverbial carrot on the stick, I would've stuck with WoW.

Bruce Campbell is a guy who actively does Q&A with audience memebers. When's the last time you've heard of any multi-million dollar actor do that?

He seems like he's generally a decent guy - he understands his fans make him money, so he treats them with respect & admiration.

He's been in several cult horror films, some of which were actually really good but lacked any A-list actors to be taken seriously.

For those that can't picture who Bruce Campbell is - he was the door guy in Spiderman 2 that didn't let Peter in the theater because he was late.

Lately, he's been in Bubba Ho-Tep, which is another really good movie that didn't garner big box office dollars, but was still incredibly fun to watch. He plays Elvis in a retirement home which is invaded by a mummy, and his best friend (John F. Kennedy) who happens to be african american and has a bag of sand implanted in his head, helps him fend off the evil mummy.

You can't get any better than that.

Thats a great explanation, except for no. People do not like Roland for the following reasons :

    A) his website
    B) his website
    C) his website

Check the article he submitted.. particularly, the "This longer overview" link. Guess where it goes? Why, his own website/blog chock full of hit ads, ads, and even more ads to generate "hit" revenue from slashdot. You even going to his site just made that douchebag some money, and the guy is capitalizing off of submitting stories to slashdot.

What if you ran a small news site that came up with a steady stream of stories, and some guy plagerises 100% of it, mirrors it on his own site and collects all of the advertisement revenue that supposed to keep YOUR site alive? Wouldn't you be a little pissed off? Yeah, I would too. Welcome to what he's been doing on slashdot for quite some time.

I'm 25 and in the prime of my geek life - Where is the appeal in Anime? I can't even take the art form seriously after it's been bastadized and role played to death by 'hardcore' geeks. Sorry, I just dont see the connection between anime & my technology based lifestyle. If anything I can relate to american cartoons (family guy, futurama, etc.) than anything else.
