Whoa. That is the best troll I've ever read. I can smell movie rights being fought over by the MPAA, Billy Graham, and the RIAA. Who will earn the rights to a slashdot troll movie? Will goatse be involved somehow? Who will do the soundtrack?
read at -1 to find out in the future!
No group gains as much sympathy as the single mom. In regards to the RIAA execs behind this, I quote my father.
What happened to all those good assassins we used to have?
Well, maybe. I say we boycott the polling places and vote remotely. From a public terminal. Being sure to instruct ten others on the process as we go. Then they will listen to us.
With Microsoft confused as to the devlopment state of Outlook Express, This could be a golden oppertunity for the open source community to gain a significant foothold, because Microsoft might finally be fixing their bugs. I know it sounds crazy, but why else would they push everything back so far?
5. A software vendor may not block customer from accessing his own data without court approval.
But the software is intended to allow the user to see what Microsoft wants them to see. Encouraging users to see all their own data is circumventing the grand Microsoft plan of Digital Domination. I demand the site is removed from all search engines.
Well considering most webcasts don't have ads, or anything to make money with besides cafepress tshirts, 3-5 percent is likely to be.07 cents a month. Even then they will complain, and no one will be happy.
SCO, hurry up and do something!

Ooh.. Mandrake advertisments... How interesting. SCO needs to come up big for todays edition to be worth reading at all. Perhaps something like
"oops, we just discovered SCO UNIX code in the GPL. All programs using it must now pay us $699 per computer using it. Act now, and get 33% off!"
It's the MPAA out for revenge
for the bad text messages reported recently. Watch out, lest your speakers burst into flame for playing illegal.mp3s. I think giving them the ability to light phones ablaze was too big a concesion for them, as punishment just for badmouthing their IP, but IP is IP, right?
I can forgive stupid home users, but shouldn't mission critical things like these patch every now and then? The hype surrounding this has been huge, and if you run unpatched microsoft stuff, well, good luck fixing it now. It will take a long time, but at least this worm can be fixed with little damage. Maybe this worm will get people to pay attention to security, but then again people said that about the last dozen MS worms.
Got this from one of those advisory sites... Strings of interest:

Anyhow, it must be a/.er, if he tells Bill Gates to stop making money. This would make a great interview, I think.
Georgy Russell,
What do you plan to do about the trolls on slashdot. They are really annoying, and a tough law against goatse.cx and other related troll and offtopic behavior would be greatly appreciated. Also, do any other canidates know what a blog is. Good luck with your campaign.

Who can we say about this? SCO is not present, M$ is not present, there are no Linux Champions to praise... why? What can I say? Still, looks like a fun little toy to have. However, I prefer guns that leave marks in walls at 8 feet.
Exemptions from the list include calls from charities and pollsters and calls on behalf of politicians.
But calls from people telling me, Vote for Dayton/Coleman/Ventura/ whoever else is running are the worst kind. And don't get me started on charity calls, It's bad when they try to sell something, it's worse when the ask me to give them something for nothing. Toughen the law even more, I say. Make those annoying "oops wrong number" calls a federal offense. I don't want my phone to ring for anyone I don't already know. In fact, add my family to the list. The only ones I want to allow to call me are single women.
that would be true, sir... to a cartoony "social interface" to make Windows appear friendlier to the pathologically computer phobic (1995's Microsoft Bob, a much-maligned happy face with geek glasses).
What self respecting windows hater would let them forget about Bob? I don't know, but not a seattle weekly one!
I've gone as far as to build back doors into some of my networking products that gather and track information straight from the level II socket upstream layer and although I've yet to use this information in any way, it would be real easy for me to bring some lawsuits against some of the largest Fortune 500 companies in the US.
Great, another round of small companies trying to get a piece from big business.
perhaps if enough of them are forced to move into the YMCA, homeless and hungry, where they will be at high risk of forced sodomy and other vile disgusting acts, all because their parents are imprisoned, well, this might be just the ticket to wake all these kids up.
They aren't murderers, they violated copyright law. If that means one less vacation for some Bigwig CEO, too bad for him.
They cannot actually expose the infringed upon code, as someone will just redo it, and they lose their claim. If they simply speak in shadowy, legalish terms, they get money. SCO is a disgrace to the *NIX name they claim to own. This won't last long, and SCO will lose any profit they hoped to earn.
The only reason I will tolerate Capcom's mention next to 3D0 is one game. A strange, mutant creation; dare I say, worse then most Army Men games, Mega Man Soccer. That game should not have been made. Play it sometime, there is no good thing in it. I cringe at the thought of MegaMan, once a respectable platformer, forced into a sports game, a bad one at that, it must be said that Capcom once was as low as 3D0.
I suppose it would. That doesn't mean, however, that it would be better to run Windows. If only to force M$ (look I'm trendy) to perhaps change it's practices just a little, to start fixing flaws rather then visual appeal and claim "compatability" as a universal advantage. Even if they run a windows emulator, it is a step forward.
I prefer to think most commercial competitions will be won by arson and mysterious deaths of low tier company employees, but it's hard to throw someone off a bridge via the internet, but the RIAA is working on that still. Soon a simple click of the button will pour a pair of concrete boots and summon a Simon Deliver's truck to haul you away.

Nope, robots will soon do it all.

So, if someone were to fight one of the robots and break it, would it be a DMCA violation as well as a terrorist act?
