I think its easier to turn to your cell phone for brief sessions, ie, a wait in the doctors office, than trying to hull around your psp/ds. Now, would I get rid of my psp/ds. Heck no, but thats because I feel those portables provide a more dedicated gaming experience for longer sessions.

To boot, you have the fact that both the DS and the PSP have been out in market for 5+ years while cell phones making huge hardware gains at break neck speeds.

PSP2 I will not be DOA, neither will the DS. As others have said too, you need something for kids...though I guess you could also give them your old smart phone and access the store via wifi...or in the case of apple, a ipod touch.

I'm sorry I have to be this harsh....but your a prime example of consumer idiocy. Here is my issue with your comment. You call MS the better company because they go above and beyond with customer service. However are you aware that when it comes to the 360 they waited a year before they actually gave consumers a solution (this after they said it was the consumers fault until it was VERY evident it was their issue). Even then the solution is broke because their fix was just to give you another defective main board and HOPE that it will last you longer. THEY NEVER FIXED THE FREAKING PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINEERING!

Yet, here you are saying Sony doesn't give a rat's ass about reliability? The company that has a lower failure rate, actually QA'ed their product the way it needed to be and from my experience, actually does have good customer service.

To me the 360 doesn't work well cause of a issue they KNEW about and still pushed it to retail and their service and support is like any other companies, which is if you problem meets warranty criteria, well fix it...if not....your paying.

Think of it like this, Lets say I try to sell you a car....sure its cheap but I say "well, there is over a 50 percent chance the engine will blow, well fix it..but that engine will also have a 50 percent change to blow....and the same after that...etc." would you by that car?

I want to believe it's reason 1, but the added fact that Dell doesn't seem to be advertising this thing at all, and the fact that you actually have to jump through some hoops on the website to even see that the option is available, makes me think that reason 2 isn't entirely impossible either

You know I thought the same, outside of a quick revolving ad their promo for this is pretty weak. Sure we want linux on OEM but the idea is 2 fold (at least for me). Give me a machine with linux preinstalled and made it so that other people have choice. If I was joe average looking for pc and saw that ad that said "ubuntu has arrived" I would be asking myself "WTF IS UBUNTU!!", he might research and find out its linux say to himself "cool, I will give it a go". Now, that's assuming this person even KNOWS what linux is. Most people don't even understand the concept of an Operating System. To them, Windows is the PC and vise versa. heck there monitor is the pc, the hard-drive is memory all that fun usual frustrating supporting end user stuff :P.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE:
The linux option NOT ON A DIFFERENT PAGE. When I go to the 1505 laptop and say customize, there should be listing for ubuntu. When they give "suggestions" on configuration, there at least be 1 linux option. With a link that describes what Linux is in relation to windows. To have this work you must educate your customer base. The fact that if I just click on laptops I don't see ANY of the linux option machines is not what I was expecting. Instead, I click on laptops, go to the top, click "open source PC's" and then I can get to the linux/free dos machines. I really think Dell can push this and what it be really sucessful but the way it is now, After the geeks buy their machines I see it faltering. Which is sad :(
