I knew the lindows man was going to branch out to another silly/lucrative market as soon as he could, as lindows seems to be going nowhere. (see:post.goingdowntheline) He doesn't actually care about what he's doing, he's just trying to make himself the top of a somewhat niche market.

Thanks so much for the freebie devs!

This game is just amazingly well-written and even cast.

These kind've games are like novels, they take a long time to finish, and sometimes you just can't stop while at others you get frustrated or distracted (like when you have no idea how to solve a puzzle, like I don't, like right after I start up that transport or whatever robot I'm completely stuck *wink* *wince*)

Anyways, it's sad that games like this are few and far between. Maybe someone can turn this awesome art form into a cash generator again. I think shenmue is a shining example of a more 'mainstream' evolution of this storytelling genre.

Anyways, enough with the babbling self. These kind of games rock! No doubt about it.

I'm going to go out on a hunch and assume that after Multi Theft Auto 0.1 was released the guys at Rockstar North took notice, and addded to/developed around this mod for the PC Vice City 'port'.

As I echoe'd in a post on the ever popular Voodoo Extreme Now part of Ign, this kind of grace rarely is dispersed to people making game-revolutionary hacks like this.

Me, I'm still hoping and holding on to the thought that someone might resurrect the Tresspasser Hacking Society one day. But that is one example of how this pretty much on average never> happens. Props to R*ckStar.

I trust that Crystal Dynamics could make a very original and probably good game based on the TR franchise, and core has pretty much just been milking the cow for the previous 3 or 4 sequals anyways. Though many devotees would disagree because some really did seem to like more of the same.

Anyways, CD may make a tight TR game, but it's hard to predit whether the spirit of the original will be lost or discarded in favor of var(currenttrendinvideogameindustry) or float(increasing age of video game players).

Maybe they'll just take some pictures of Jolie and start tying in directly with the movie characters. Heheh, I'm sure that will improve teh quality of the next TR movie immensely.

Though it seems that all this 'movie sucks because game' sucks crap is why this change has occured.

A lot of developers also apparently signed on for the GP32 like Capcom and SNK but nothing seemed to happen outside of the korean market.

The one thing that would seem to entice more developers is having the device based on a system (like palm os, coincidentally) that would potentially be future cell phone tech and thus be easily portable to the lucrative cell market.

If some synergy between handheld/cell software got going, it could get interesting and actually non-spartan for this device and devices like it.

I remember a couple years ago reading a PC Gamer QA/Article on Broadband types, they mentioned the whole DSL latency thing as if it were inherent. This to me makes the lower cost somewhat irrelevant when my cable network infrastructure generally leaves me with real world pings of under 100ms.

The added latency in dsl setups can also add to irritation when web surfing as well.
