    I don't pigs will ever 'fly'. Flight; True powered flight is most easy to distinguish by flapping wings. Neither parachutist nor gliders flap their wings at all.     Here in Phoenix Arizona, I have to run my air conditioning quite hard to keep my apartment 22-24C when my two Athlon 1800+ with two 19" CRT's are running. What does this mean for my processors? They usually run at 75-80C Thats pretty damn harsh. With all my equipment off, my A/C only kicks on maybe twice an hour. I'd have to guess that those machines put off about half a ton of heat per hour (6,000 btu's).

    The comment I replied to insinuated that thermostats were overly expensive. I was just pointing out that the markup is made by the contractor who makes a margin AND charges for install on top of it. DIYourselfers would find it advantageous to purchase their thermostat direct from a retail outlet either on the net for through a local distributor. My company personall does very little business with the public, but several of my competitors do offer retail.

    Actually, I work for a HVAC wholesale distributor and I can get a Honeywell Chronotherm IV Single Stage Heatpump for 63.62 USD. The guy in the article 'vt' was using a Honeywell Chronotherm III. I don't know anyone who could build a micro tower for less than that.

    I remember when we had to flash our BIOS off a 5 1/4 inch magnetic storage media and if there was a brown out like there so often were back before we had nuclear fission, you'd have to replace your EPROM! You kids have it so good these days.

    just as all hacks against the government computers and websites are by hackers being funded by opposing parties? it's more reasonable to say the hackers could likely be paid by an opposing party... not that they most certainly would be. it's not like you can just hire a hacker like you would the Orkin man.

    before we worry about the voters figuring out the ballot system, let's worry about how the voters are educated about the candidates in the first place. at least someone with the knowledge to hack the voting system in the first place is educated. their choice for our nations leaders would better suit the technology savvy of us anyway. what are we worried about? the ball is in our court.
