Gerber is a great company and I've liked every knife I've bought from them (and it's been several). So when I was in the Navy I decided to buy one of thier multitoolts rather than a leatherman and the salt air started rusting it within a few days. This happened to all the other sailors I knew that had other models also.
Yeah but the whole point of archiving is to not have to retranscribe everything very often. Imagine if book paper had a shelf life measured in 10's of years or less and you were a librarian at the library of congress. Or you were an archivist trying to preserve the documents of some importent person.
Then by your definition since a movie is made by a team it's not art. I know the argument to this is that a movie has a strong director whos vision shapes the movie but anyone with input changes the final result.
e.g. Kubrick made Dr Strnglove but would it have been the same without Peter Sellers or Slim Pickins?
Ubuntu
its based on Debian so it's got all that apt goodness but the installer is way easier to use and the community (ubuntulinux.org) is really great.
And as a good cherry on top they'll even ship you a pressed cd with the install disk and a live version.
So now theres two Beowulf movies coming soon and two War of the Worlds.
I think its interesting to watch interpretations of the same source material by very different teams of filmakers. But I think this is the first time airs of movies have opened so near each other in time.
I'm thinking like mad to come up with a Bauhaus joke but it's just not working.

The world needs a new reneable source of energy, if not to replace oil then at least to supplament it. Research and experamentaion like this and the sunflower oil fuel cell story from yesterday may not be commercially viable themselves but who's to say what they might lead to.

Exactly, it's not as though plastic surgery is famous for being painless. Even fairly "minor" procedurs like liposuction can lay a person up for several days.
Not that I'd know
Seems to me that if you use it as a projection screen that it would be a perpetual motion device.
(It's pretty late, probably someone has alreay said this.)
The Baskins Robbins Link is /.'ed. Who woulda thunk it?

I'm sure astronauts do that all the time
That's astronomer NOT astrologer. And if you work for nasa part of your taxes goes to paying for nasa projects just like every other american.

on most g4 and lower you can just reboot into os9 and do whatever you want
To hell with cars I can think of a slew of uses for these things in the space program. They'd sure beat the hell out of explosive bolts.
Apple and microsquish on the same side of a lawsuit
