I got that error message as well but it appears that it didn't actually work in 0.3 either, at least not for my imap server even though I think it should. From the release notes:

    [..]
If you configure a mail server to use secure authentication but the server does not support it, Thunderbird no longer silently falls back to insecure authentication. Thunderbird brings up an error dialog and refuse to connect to the server.

Why would anyone want a BMW? Not only do they put the power to the wrong end, they even brag about it! You push something along - it has a choice of 180 degrees' worth of directions to go in. You pull something along - it can only come towards you. Think about it. Supermarket trolleys are rear-driven. Need I say more?
Thats blasphemy! Everyone knows rear wheel drive is the best. It's called control. You control the front end with the steering wheel and the back end with the gas pedal. Your trolley example doesn't work either, trolleys don't have steering wheels and the caster can change from positive to negative. As far as road racing is concerned rear wheel drive is faster and the reduced understeer reduces tire wear among other things. Also its alot more fun. I guess FW drive is more stable for an unskilled driver but it ain't interesting or fun.

Thats's not really true though is it. XP worked with my camera (Canon Ixus 400) without any extra software before the camera even existed whereas on Linux i had to wait 2 or 3 months for the new version of GPhoto to come out before it would work.

don't get your hair in twist about that EULA crap, the truth is that most cameras work with xp without any extra software. Having said that Linux is actually pretty good at cameras. Other stuff can be much harder than just plugin and go.

According to an Associated Press report, South Korean police said today that a man has died after an 86-hour gaming marathon. The incident occurred at an Internet cafe in a town 160 miles southwest of Seoul, where the man, who was unemployed, had been "virtually glued" to a computer since Friday, skipping sleep and meals. The man collapsed near the cafe's counter and was later found dead in the restroom. Many Internet cafes in South Korea are open 24 hours a day.

I've been going crazy in the last few weeks trying to fix these SOPs at work with huge numbered lists and lots of references which decide to break and restart numbering themselves at random places.
Having been introduced to Latex recently, if I had the choice, for most documents I would use it. Apart from all the other good reasons it just doesn't try to be too clever.
