  1. Re:What about plugins? on Firefox Developer on Recruitment Policy · · Score: 4, Insightful

Exactly... I thought "Yeah, that'd be great developing firefox." and to test out if it really was for me I decided to take the extension easy path. I wacked up the super unuseful Slashdot moderator extension then realised that even something so trival took a shit load of time.

I gave up on that dream. But at least I didn't waste anyone's time checking my dodgy patches.

Certainly looks like MS have had enough of .NET Passport... Mouseover the "How do I become a .NET Passport Site?" on the directory site and it shows "http://www.microsoft.com/net/services/passport", but click it and your redirected to "http://www.microsoft.com/NET/default.aspx" with not a mention of .NET Passport.

  5. Buy a VCR... Now! on The VHS is Dead · · Score: 5, Insightful

If you've got a half decent video collection, then do your self a favour and buy a top-o-the-line VCR now... and treat it good. You'll never be able to replace ALL the vids in your collection. (And ripping them to 'puter is ok, but you'll find this weird vid at a car boot sale in 2014 and think back to this slashdot story...)

You can still buy a good record player thanks to them bieng the tool of choice for DJs and hardcore classic moosic lovers, but if you want to replace your Betamax, thats harder... I think VCRs are more likely to go the Betamax route, than the record player route.

I used to use SoundForge4.5 Radium release (having since bought SF5 and 6) and I checked out some old files that I sampled in to 4.5.

In wmpaud5.wav on WinXp the last bytes are: LISTR INFOICRD 2000-04-06 IENG Deepz0ne ISFT Sound Forge 4.5;Sound Forge 4.0

In my samples from 4.5 I had: LIST0 INFOICRD 2000-01-09 ISFT Sound Forge 4.5
