The bible talks about a snake person tempting Eve to eat the apple
Fun fact: the Bible never specifies what the forbidden fruit is. Other interpretations make it a fig, pear, tamarind, grape, banana, pomegranate, wheat, psychedelic mushroom, or just a metaphor for the sex organs.
Google's Android operating system doesn't allow updating to new versions. Again, that is an extremely destructive way of manipulating people to buy new phones.
tl;dr, Android's architecture is more abstracted now, so new versions of the system will remain compatible with old drivers. Which makes much easier to develop updates.
Active Shooter's removal was not because of content, it seems. The developer's business partner had already been kicked out for copyright infringement, review manipulation, and customer abuse. Here.
Elop's burning platform memo was not openness, it was not excessive honesty -- it was sabotage.
The memo was full of lies. Symbian was still the market leader, massively profitable, and it was expected to remain like that for years, even with Android encroaching. Nokia still had time to work on MeeGo, their situation was not desperate. Except that stupid memo caused the sudden collapse of their smartphone business.
It is obvious now: Elop thought this would force a move to Windows Phone. Because that was his true allegiance, he was there to peddle Microsoft's garbage, even if it killed Nokia! Too bad for him, there was another company ready to fill this vacuum: Samsung, more than any other Android manufacturer, made billions from Elop's idiocy.
If you're the "computer emergency guy" in your family or circle of friends, it's useful to have Windows 7, Windows 10, and Linux [pick your favorite distro] always handy. So, 3 flash drives, ~$5-10 each. Or blank DVDs, ~20-30 cents each. But then again, many new PCs don't even come with optical drives, so I admit, perhaps that's not much of a point anymore.
I still prefer installing from optical media. It's so handy. You just burn it and write "System ABC, release XYZ" - done. You know what it is from a glance, there is no doubt. And it's there forever, whenever you need it. If you use a flash drive, you go: "okay, which one had Windows, which one had Linux, which one had my documents... is it still there or did I reuse this drive for something else... now I have to download the system and prepare a new boot drive again... and how do I do that when my computer's installation is fucked in the first place..."
When people say "Gnome is clunky", I think they mostly mean the Activities menu, which has a rather unusual and confusing design. Cinnamon has a traditional applications menu instead, so that's not an issue.
That shit's pinned program list gets corrupted quite often, requiring this Powershell command for a fix. Also, the interface as a whole is ugly and amateurish, but at least WindowBlinds mitigates that. Regardless, I'm probably going back to 7 as soon as I backup my disk.
Despite years and billions wasted, Windows Phone remains possibly the greatest debacle in the history of capitalism. It single-handedly ruined the world's leading mobile phone maker. Nothing else - Exxon Valdez, New Coke, Edsel, Virtual Boy, Note 7 - nothing caused a destruction of wealth and market share as massive as what Nokia suffered during the suicidal Elop experiment.
But nooo, let's try again, surely this time it will sell better!

Google is trying to fix this situation with Project Treble.

Windows 10 is not mature, it's a bug-ridden piece of shit, it's so bad that lots of people cling to 7.
Where do you draw the line for the size of a tablet? The HTC Athena had a 5" screen back in 2007.
Its only 20lbs.
That's so light, only TWENTY TIMES the weight of a regular tablet.
Bulky. Heavy. Hot. Power-hungry. Software not designed for touch.

Let's play cops and robbers! But everyone has to be cops because robbers are bad!
I'm just the opposite: as a Windows 10 hater, I realy like Mint.
They would know it's a lie. I would love to not do Windows, but it's where the games are.

They're tiny, and cost many times more than a blank disk, so I'd likely reuse them for something else.

The worst thing about Windows Phone is not that it was crap, but that far superior Nokia MeeGo was cancelled to make way for it.
And Cyberpunk 2077.
I just want to get immersed by myself in an epic RPG.
There are some options out there. The Witcher series. Kingdom Come Deliverance. Wasteland 2.

Have you listened to Death Magnetic ripped from Guitar Hero III? It's a massive difference!
No, fool. He clearly meant Saturday Night Fever, which started a wave of disco-related movies.
You don't have to spend $1000 unless you want the latest and greatest. You could buy an used one, or a more modest model.
That's amazing, I've got the same combination on my luggage!
OLED displays have fantastic color reproduction. Too bad they also have durability issues.
