As i stated in the past the only reason verisign, ICANN or anyone else has DNS power is because everyone agrees to use their standard.. well.. not everybody;) there is a choice in the matter anyone who wants to run a DNS server can do so and can map domains to whatever IP address they like... it's just that issuing conflicting domain names on different servers benifits nobody and makes things worse for everyone
I read an article in a Computing magazine by Asia Carrera once (the next issue had letters asking if it was THE Asia Carrera and indeed it was) I want to say it was "PC Magazine" but i also had a subscription to "Maximum PC". I heard she runs her own web site...

I think older vending machines only look for a few things on a bill, possibly few enough that a dupe would not be similar enough to a real bill to count as forgery (paper and pencil, black line, a few marks) im not really sure though
The parent poster was absolutely right. People forget what a REAL crime it is and ruin their whole lives. You'd honestly be better off stealing a candy bar than forging a $5 to pay for it.
you'd probably even be better off robbing the store and stealing the candy bar than forging $5, as it should be because forgeries hurt the trust in the american dollar, without that trust the economy of the US would collapse (and bring the rest of the civilized world with it most likely)
how did you not notice? as soon as i started playing i thought to myself... wow this seems similar to duke.... except that it seems to run better on newer versions of windows than DN3D did
make many random changes to the LSB's (Least significant Bits) so the hash will be completely different even when looking at small segments of the file (to prevent a system where filesize determines what 5KB segment gets hashed)
there is as yet no standard for immersive 3D-VR Actually there is, VRML, it's not really very powerful but with some extensions it could be good for general use
actually my battlebot designs are very different from my ideas for a rover, but seriously being able to clear the solar panels of debris could be taken care of using ultrasonic vibrations after tilting the panels 90 degrees (hard part is making solar panels that would not be damaged by the vibration) or perhapse having transparent layers on the panels that could be individually shedded when power output got too low due to dirt collecting on it, the self-righting mechanism could be a set of thin rods that would be attached to each edge to flip outward if stuck (this idea actually DID come from battlebots)

how about having 2 instances of win2k running a web server for instant crash/ hack recovery
already in the works... or at least an open source win NT compatable environment for device drivers and applications ReactOS
it is a technique known as a DDOS.
I think they got bitch-slapped in court over those deals forbidding competing software/OS's
When do the Mac, Linux, and BSD ports of Novarg come out?
Encryption should not be a part of the protocol, it should be separate so it can be updated as technology improves

I think it has something to do with the system being quiet and elegant.

that would be my assumption, i doubt that it was intended to interfere with browser choice but merely poor programming which led to this problem.
Actually the DMCA specifically allows reverse engineering and breaking security measures to investigate copyright infringement
