Owners of the PC version of the Orange Box will be enjoying their games long after the owners of the console version. The reason is the modders. These games are going to have the crap modded out of them, and once these mods are available, what once was old is brand new again. Levels, game variations, all of these will be available on the PC and available for FREE. If you're lucky, maybe Valve will be nice and package some of them for download on the 360/PS3. You'll most likely be paying for it, though.
have you ever compared the list of credits for half-life and hl:ep2? See how many more people are involved?... but the company seems to be adding more and more people to produce what is effectively a shorter version of HL2 each time...
I'm pretty sure that the end credits to every Valve game contain the names of every person in the company, not just the people that directly worked on/with the game. The fact that there are more people listed in Episode 2's credits just shows how much the company has grown since the development of Half-Life and Half-Life 2.
System Shock 2 is definitely the scariest game I've ever played. I bought it when I was a young teenager when it first came out. I stopped playing it because it freaked me out so badly. I didn't end up beating that game until I was in college. Even then, it was still scary! I had friends on my hall that were captivated by it and would sit in my room and watch me play it. I'm not sure who jumped more, me or them.
Is anyone from Bush's original cabinet still in office? The fact that so many of his appointees have resigned during his administration is far more telling about his terms in office than anything else I can think of.
MOD PARENT UP!
Seriously, it's amazing how anything questionable on this site gets pointed back at Bush. Granted, he hasn't helped the situation, but this shit has been going on for decades. I wish people would stop being so naive. It's not the president; it's the whole system.
...the internet, but the United Nations is a worthless waste of space and resources. It should not be allowed the remotest of control over the internet. I would be much happier with an organization set up independent of the UN that actually knows what they're doing.
Wait, I thought that bullshit and apeshit were inherently incompatible. Is there some new framework available that allows easy portability between bullshit and apeshit? If so, has the company that created this masterpiece gone public? I would like to invest.
...on what type of company you are working for. I work for a contracting company, and when you are putting together a bid for a contract that's out there, it's nice to be able to put the various certifications of your staff on there to make you look good. Sure, it's not going to do anything in and of itself, but if it comes down to your company and another company and you both have similar levels of experience, then having the certifications might put you over the top.
Yeah that stuff has been around for a while. We used Roger Wilco five years ago to play Counter-Strike, and I'm sure it was done long before I found out about it.
Best Futurama reference EVER!

THIS POSTULATE IS INCORRECT.
Put away your computers. I have.
I can only assume you posted this manually by sending your signal down the optic fiber with a laser pointer.
What's Chinese for "pwned"?
Kekekekekekeke
Or is that Korean?
I think the mod you're referring to is Natural Selection. If I'm not mistaken, the mod has been updated for HL2 as well.

Can someone point me to a google query that indicates that its results were filtered in accordance wuth US laws?
crymeph0 posted one further up on this page here. It has a DMCA takedown notice at the bottom.
Did anyone else read the subject of the parent post with the Farnsworth voice saying it in their head?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought automatic update just downloaded "critical updates" and not drivers and such.
Only if it weighs the same as a Martian duck.
You're assumed to know some more names as well: Bill Gates, Lex Luthor, Steve Ballmer, Darl McBride, Dr. Evil, John C. Dvorak.
That's redundant at least once.
You can do iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!! /Geico
You'll even get to talk to an old man at the beginning of the level
Holy crap, I CAN'T WAIT to play this!!!

Cue a bunch of slashdot posts with people getting cut off in the mid...##KR2F@F@$F$ {NO CARRIER}
my bullshit detector is going apeshit right now

I have a patent pending regarding complaining about idiotic patents online. When this baby passes, you're all going to be screwed! Muahahaha.
Good to see we can expect more quality cinema in the future.
You misspelled "shit."
