I don't think he meant modern gaming introduced cooperative gameplay. I think he meant that modern games have simply used cooperative modes to enhance player-to-player experience.
As in, sure, Double Dragon 2-player co-op was fun, but the level of strategy and detail was limited. The introduction of cooperative, and even death match gaming modes to first person shooters and sneaker games has enhanced our all around perspective on what a good game is.
From the google cache page:
"Roses are red. Violets are blue. OS X rocks. Homage to you."
Sure hope Apple didn't yell at them, after such a nice complement. I don't own any Apple products but they seem like a cool, hip, and forgiving company. This would change my perspective of them, much like when Google went after XGoogle.
Well we can't simply mark Dr. Who's creators and investors as the "Media companies" you speak of. Just because SOME media companies dislike p2p networks, doesn't mean these guys ever complained about it.
Who knows, maybe they have, but we should be sure first.
Also, theres always the possibility that the advertising firm or group that was in charge of giving this new show some hype, simply took some orders out of context and "did all that was necessary" to massively spread this avi file
Bad quality = stolen, good quality = intentional?
If they wanted to distribute this video online, wouldn't they purposely make it low quality to increase the amount of downloads?
Well if its legal, meaning, the owners of the video purposely used this as advertisting, then who cares? Its a good idea if you ask me.
Should be 'Distributed' via file sharing networks, not leaked:)
So everytime you want to view your saved database of contacts, or possible financial information, anything that you normally wouldn't want to be sent out on a network, will be.

That post was unrightfully marked flamebait. Any one who posts their negative opinion on slashdot is considered a flamer, and that's simply due to the (f)laws of civil discourse.
But he has a point, its 400 dollars for something you can write software to do.
I bet MS will just create another study explaining why Linux is, in reality, a more expensive alternative to Windows. Same thing with OpenOffice to Office.
I don't exactly buy it, but I can see how training and technical support are necessary yet costly in the work environment.
He based his study on 4 words. Software producer's names. How in the world, could this be used to account for the entire English language, not to mention all of the other languages, used on an irc server?
"Based on those keywords being monitored, 99.9% of IRC traffic to the top 60 channels is "illegal"."
Is this a joke? Doesn't he really think that this could be accurate at all?
I JUST got through explaining to my parents why Firefox is a safer alternative.
Does a bear pope in the woods?
Almost everything can both cause and cure cancer these days.
This may be the most impressive flash animation i've ever watched. Mario is obviously the most powerful magic attack EVER in a Final Fantasy game.

But those old games sure were fun.
The popular open-source PBX is popular
No way really?
Just look at how they're taking control of the situation http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/children/ kidtalk.mspx
Especially when they say to themselves "I need a good Winamp Four-Skin"
One article says the fireball lasts
"just 10 million, billion, billionths of a second"
Whatever the hell that means.
Another article says
"10-23 seconds"
Also, the first article states the plasma ball is
"300 times hotter than the surface of the Sun"
And the second states
"300 million times hotter than the surface of the sun"
I say it's a hoax!

"The robot has a vocabulary of about 100 words and could be trained for practical office and factory use"
I don't know about you, but a 100 word vocabulary is already vastly superior to some of the factory workers I've worked with.

Of the pc gamers are pirates? And therefore, how many of the console players are also pc gamers? Terrible experiment, bad format.

If anything, they should sue the ISP, not the individual. Props to the ISP though for listening to the guy.
Auto dry? Auto fit? Auto lace? If it ain't up to McFly's standards, it ain't worth purchasing.
Or even worse your finger itself could get janky from all the dust and scratches. And you'll never be recognized by a computer again....
Mine came with halitosis recognition. It only turns on for people with really bad breath. And THEN it does the fingerprint scan. Talk about security.
Morse code is considered binary right? Wouldn't that have been a better comparison?
Awesome though
Nuff said.
