  1. $20 Unlimited Data Correction on iPhone, Apple TV Headline MacWorld Keynote · · Score: 1

You have Media Net Unlimited ($19.99) which isn't elligible on PDA's anymore, those require a $39.99 plan.
Cingular has rearranged features to be restricted to certain types of phones. So a new account with the iPhone will be restricted to PDA data plans which are much more expensive. Older accounts with older features can slip through the cracks however.
And you can still get away with it by faking your IMEI but they're closing in on this too. Older accounts will be swept to remove tethering capabilities for Media Net plans to eliminate that at some point.
Enjoy it now if you have $19.99 and a PDA, it won't last.

Yes I work for Cingular and am getting a kick out of all these posts blah blah.

Oh we also got this announcement today, the $499 and $599 are with a 2 year contract. I don't think it'll be discounted at all, like Wal-Mart doesn't get to discount the iPod.

It doesn't bill incorrectly for roaming. Roaming charges are billed from another carrier and sent to Cingular, that's how we know you were roaming.

The other thing is called call delivery, don't ask me to explain it but it's on most bills, a call from the same number will appear twice, at either the same time or while in the time of that call, one with the billing code(with the code P = Peak, O = Offpeak, N or W = Weekends )... the other with a 4 next to it or no denotation, it denotes call delivery and if you add it up on your detailed billing, it's not charging you extra for it, it's not counted at all.

It's the other carriers that charge AT&T for AT&T customers to use their towers, ATT has no control over that. In addition, the other carriers bill ATT at their convenience, that's why the roaming charges can show up months later and at some hefty prices (mostly by unfriendly carriers). So when you get massive roaming charges two months after the fact and get all pissed off at ATT (or whoever), ask your carrier who you roamed onto before deciding to port out, to avoid the jackass companies that did it to you (usually Verizon)

What do you suggest the carriers do? Eat that cost cause you were too busy downloading ringtones to see the flashing ROAMING or EXTEND on your phones screen?
