    You do know what the soluition is right? If enough people do like they do in Thailand and pirate a copy for yoursef. If piracy reaches the smae levels here as in Thialand, it would make more sense to use the same (or similar) marketing strategies. Including "starter editions."

    One last rule of thumb: Never change jobs for less that a 10% pay increase. Generally I would agree, but you should also consider other things besides the salery. First of all, do you like your currnet job? Would the prospective switch make you happier? If your working on a contract as opposed to salery, taht could be a factor. What are the benefits like. Thats said, considor evreything, and the 10%.

    He wasnt suggesting it as siomthing to put on a resume, but rather to get you in with a group of people whit similar skills, who may have contacts and conectings that you could use. Its alot easier to get a job (full or part time) If you know someone who knows somone who tells you that so and so is hiring. Lots of jobs dont get posted in the paper or on the internet. Its all about talking to the right people.

    Ive got news for you, they're making a forth. (The Hobbit). Well, the probabally will be, once they figure out all the legal mumbo jumbo over who gets to make it.

    But then again, its harder to screw up a sequel if its allready been written. Its not like they're just saying, "Hey LOTR did great, quick lets think up another story to cash in on the bandwagon." Well they might be saying that, but that other story is already written. And it good writing.

    You're certainly entitled to your predilections, but I've never really thought that going and parking a large vehicle on a concrete pad and hooking it up to sewer and electricity, and then staying inside it, has very little to do with "camping".

    I mean, knock yourself out, but I think we need to come up with another verb. To my mind, one of the prime virtues of "camping" is "low impact on my environment", which a 30' diesel powered truck with satellite TV is not.

    Id agree, call it RV'ing or somthign like that. Sleeping in an oversized van with satellite TV and a gas powered oven is not camping. Its more akin to taking your own hotel room with you as you travel. Sure it could be fun, and a convenient way to travel and get away from work in the city. But its definatly not camping.

    check out your schools computer department. if they're a member of the MSAA (microsoft academic alliance) you should be able to download a copy legally for free.

    Were all the entries last year wheel based? Id think when it comes to maneuverability and obstacle avoidance, a walking robot would do the job better. Of course you couldnt have one of those lame assed ASIMO type bots. Do damn slow and clunkey. Just make somthing with at least 4 legs, and you've fixed that whole falling over problem.

    Thats what Id try anyway. I'd fail miserably, but wouldnt building a mechanical cheetah b e lots of fun.

    Store it all in one place so you can carry it around evreywhere with you , and then back it up evrey once in a while in more secure place. Doesnt that solve your problem? I dont think anyone is suggesting no backups, just that if you can store evreything in one location, its much more portable and convenient.

    You mean Im not the only one with a Zaurus :) It does work great as an audio player (video too), but I tend to use mp3s alot more than ogg's mainly because thats the format all my music is already in.

    My only gripe with it as an audio player is the size, its great if your sitting, or not moving around much, but try to take it on a run and the size becomes a bit cumbersome. Although I guess its not any worse than the portable CD player I used to carry around. I guess as portable devices have kept getting smaller over the years, ive came to expect better.

    Generally i compleylt agree with your post, however I though i should point out that you can't Order the coffee the way you like it in the first place. at McDonalds. (At least the last time I bought coffee there, probabally 10 months ago). They dont want to deal with mixing up peoples milk and cream, and all that kind of stuff, so they just igve you the supplies to do it yourself.

    Last time I was there I did ask specifically for creamand sugar, and they basically pointed and said, its over there.

    If youre source is digital, doesnt it make sense to make a digital copy? Why change the medium? If fair use says you can make a copy, why should you have to make an extra effort to purposly dumb down that copy, taking up more space, and store it in a less efficient and more inconvient manor?

    Regarding the Klingon thing, I always thought it was that the Klingons were upset that they used to look so much like all the other non ridge faced races, and that they had performed some species wide genetic engineering to make themselves look more fierce.

    I agree with you, It just pisses me off whenever I see somthing miss quoted like that "I invented the interne"t thing always is. Sure what he said wasnt much better, but up untill recently I was under the impression that he did specifically say that he *invented* the internet. With an emphesis on the word invented, as if he was being quoted directly.

    Maybe its because Im not an American, and I diddnt hear about the claim untill much after the election. But even if you dont like Gore, wheres the need to misquote someone to make him seem worse? Its not like using an accurate quote would make him look any better. Not that it matters anyway, like I said, I just hate it when people are misquoted. It would piss me off if I was taken out of contect too.

    I getcha now. Yeah that would be nice. I wonder if that could be done with a plug-in? I would also like the ability to drag a tab from one window to another... Actually.. haven't tried it so that feature might already exist - I'll have to check when I get back to my own machine since I'm in IE right now.

    I tried it yesterday, too bad it doesnt work :(
