    Just FYI: Phili is 130 square miles * 0.0034 = 0.442 square mile. 1 mile = 1.6 km so 0.442 * 1.6 = 0.7072 = 707 m2.

    So it's a crater of about (if it would be square) 26 meters by 26 meters. Indeed a pretty big crater for an object half the size of the little finger nail.

    Personally I think the object is too 'sharp' for causing such a crater, I think it would most likely cause a small crater and end pretty deep in the ground.

    Impossible. A optic improvement (like zooming) in a device is caused by 2 lenses moving further away from each other. Since the distance between the eye and lens is so small, only a digital zoom might be possible. Although using it as a microscope would mean however that we already can see i.e. cells with the naked eye but it is to small for our brain to filter it out. (Or is of too little importance).
