i've been trying to decide between a 2-3 year old 3-series or A4/S4... both seem to have tons of cool, useful aftermarket stuff... but this may make the decision a bit easier:)
doubt it... since the ipod uses "chicago", and the new ipod mini uses a tahoma-like font, the players can display different fonts.
apple would most certainly want something very visible in the UI to seperate its products from the HP product(s), so i'm sure HP would use a font that doesn't scream "apple" like chicago.
say mr. l33t hax0r gets a password-protected DOC with a $999 quote from dell. mr. hax0r uses this hack and edits the file, knocking $300 off the quote. file gets saved, password's still there, and claims that dell should sell him a computer at $699 because the "secure" quote says so.
that was true with the first betas... who knows about retail though. i don't see why they'd need it -- if a 3D card will do 60 bazillion FPS, why not let it?
there's only one WMA/DRM-compatible portable player -- the Samsung/Napster player. Try to play protected WMAs on any other plain WMA-compatible player and you're SOL.

I remember that episode of Law & Order -- the IP address they used was clearly fake (it WAS in proper form though -- something like 192.168.1.399, not just xxx.xxx like you said)
i suppose they had to make it fake (just like phone numbers always being "xxx-555-xxxx") otherwise wannabe techies will try to connect to that IP -- think DoS:)
There was a skit on Crank Yankers last season -- Special Ed calls a tech support guy, and brags "I got mail!" over and over. There's a big "Linux Inside" (like the "Intel Inside" logo) poster in the background...
there's also a poster of a Bill Gates muppet, too:)
