I'd argue they aren't searching for actual risks, but excuses to charge you more. Insurance rates, especially auto insurance here in Ontario Canada are way over priced and the insurance companies look for any and all excuses to both charge you more and not pay out when you make a claim.
Yeah but if you are going to stay away from all electronics made in China or similarly lax countries then you won't have any electronics. It's completely impossible to buy any "consumer" grade electronics that aren't made in one of those places. Even paying $50 for a dress shirt gets you something made in China, Bangalore, *insert other crap hole*... How much do we have to pay for something made in North America? That $50 dress shirt would be $100+ if made here and who can afford that?
I recently(last few weeks) saw a video of a tablet release(can't remember what unfortunately), and the CEO of Adobe was up there on stage trumpeting that it played flash content and could access "the whole web". And then now only a few weeks later they kill it. I have to assume he knew about this decision all the while going up on stage.
The new BB browser is based on Webkit so it should be pretty much comparable between the two phones. The difference is how they integrate the web view into the UI
Actually it'd be a whole lot easier to rent a moving van, pack it with some fertilizer(acquired over a few months or something) and diesel fuel and blow it up somewhere then it would be to hijack a plane. Still I think it's pretty retarded. The US is becoming a police state. Soon it'll be, "papers please", while walking down the street.
But will never happen in the current USA. USA is "ME ME ME, why should I have to pay for someone else's health care or schooling????". IMO they are very short sighted because when it's their turn to need health care and it's not there, they sure would wish it was like it is in other countries.
We all probably know the phone can get the gps location of a cell tower over the cellular network and that the iPhone uses this to get an initial location fix. Or it will only use this cell tower location rather than power up the GPS if you ask the phone(through code) for a rough estimate of location, because sometimes that is all you need. The iPhone is all about power saving so I believe all this is is a local cache of all known cell tower locations.
Think about it for a second. The iPhone talks to a tower, finds out it's location and stores it locally. Next time any application requests a location through Location Services, the phone looks in the cache and instead of using the cellular network(which will use battery power), they read it from the cache.
One that comes to mind was can you take off in an airplane if the plane is on a treadmill and the plane is going the same speed as the treadmill. i.e. the plane isn't moving at all through the air, has zero velocity relative to the ground and the wheels are moving at the exact rate as the treadmill. They didn't seem to understand the concept of relative movement. Of course the plane's engine can overcome the backwards movement of the treadmill and get enough airspeed to still achieve lift. The same thing happens if you try and take off in a tail wind. If you have a 10kt tail wind, the plane has to be going 10kt forward relative to the ground in order have zero airspeed. The plane engine can of course propel/pull the plane more than 10kts so it can overcome this tailwind or treadmill.
It's possible it might just be temporary. There's a negative feedback loop where if you have more testosterone floating around than your body thinks you should, the body will reduce testosterone production. This is why if you go on testosterone either for HRT or supra-physiological doses, your body will stop producing it's own.
Actually it's blocking the conversion of testosterone to DHT, dihydrotestosterone, through blocking of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme, but pretty close. DHT is a major factor in libido(as is healthy estrogen levels even in men btw)
eh? Cigarettes have hundreds of chemicals, not all of which are naturally occurring and many of which are carcinogenic. You can't compare completely natural pot smoke to cigarette smoke when talking about it's cancer causing ability.
If someone gets into your home network, maybe they can mess with your TV... I think maybe you would have bigger problems if someone was actually able to get on your network, since they could do many worse things.
It's built into the OS and it's Quicktime(scaled down). Apple won't make a competitor to VLC because VLC played many formats that Apple won't bother supporting due to no hardware acceleration. This is why Apple supports only a small set of codecs and bitrates. The A4 chip in the iPad and iPhone 4 has specific hardware for decoding this codec up to a certain bitrate.
Ever heard of OpenGL? IF the handset wants hardware acceleration then they can provide a driver(if it's not a standard GPU). If they don't then they don't. What is so hard about this? The UI gets composited through an OpenGL pipeline and the GPU renders it all. It's not that complicated.
Or a little nude asian man

Except you are forgetting that that 57% means absolutely nothing because it includes software that can't even run on the Apple devices.

It took 750 people to work on mobile flash and it was still complete crap? WTH do they do all day?

yep
Not saying this should be patentable, but did any other phones have slide to unlock before the iPhone? I certainly don't know of any.
You mean they have internet outside the good ol' USA???

This is a well known side effect. If your doctor doesn't know this, get a new one. A simple google search turns up lots of information.

Were the options restricted or something? If I had $2.4 million in one stock I'd be cashed out so fast.
